Title: Episode 12: A Ruff Ending
Post by: Joss Carter on July 24, 2020, 05:05:34 pm
That was a fantastic round. More of that, please.

Wait I can't see the jury forum, or am I just looking in the wrong place?

That is intentional. It took me four games to have a modteam that would let me try this experiment but here we are:

Quote from: Jury Board
If you are here, then your time as a player in the game is over. However, your time as a juror has just begun!

Common sense rules apply here. Don't out your ID, you can grumble at the jerks who put you here but don't be a dick about it, that sort of thing. At the end of this game you will be responsible for voting for who you want to win Survivor PD.

We are trying something new in this game; the spectators cannot see this subforum and in 24 hours they will lose access to your confessional.  We encourage you to make one last "This is my Ponderosa" post in your confessional, but this is not required.

And to preemptively address the next few posts, I know the immediate reaction from you all isn't going to be a positive one. This is an experiment I've wanted to do for a long time and I genuinely think it will make the end more exciting. If it turns out to suck, then we never have to do it again!  But I want to see it once.

i actually kinda don't like heading into ftc as a spectator already knowing the outcome, so why not?

I mean typically FTC changes a lot with the game. There have been a few dominant FTCs but I'm not sure not being able to see the jury forum changes that. And I definitely prefer the ability to opt into seeing the jury forum, but *shrug* we'll see what happens.

Did Jake miss that the vote wasn't even close? Like this is where YOU apologize Jake, and ask what you did wrong so you can attempt to fix it enough that you don't just, go this round.

challenge beast penelope who probably has a shot at winning: "yeah give me the guy who can't tie his own shoes in a challenge without falling over"

Basically forum descriptions are one of the places you can use HTML, so instead of a forum banner I inserted the code to embed a minnit chat.

Poor Scruff, Jake is pissed at him. But it turns out Jake kept him so much in the dark on so much shit. So all Scruff could do was act on the information that he had. And what he had was oh majority is over there, I gotta do that. On top of not really trusting Jake much anyways. But Jake "Mr. Doesn't Like Secrets or Lies" Peralta is all pissy about the fact that he had to waste his idol and that Scruff was being all secretive or whatever. When really Jake played the round pretty badly, and needed that idol to even still be here.

Just want to make a point of how excellent the challenge design has been this game. I'm a big fan of this challenge as well! Asymmetrical pair challenges are something that isn't done anywhere bear enough.

And I like the locking off the jury boards. Does mean I gotta make some time today to catch up on Pika's conf, but I think that's a fine exchange for a more exciting finale.

Oh and Pika noooooo :'(

Just to let you all know, we've dropped spec access for the other groups as we're having a spec do the 5th group

group 4 won't be doing the challenge until much later though so hopefully we'll have access again by the time they're doing the challenge :)

I’ve confessionalized more than six of these players and not just did I get voted out two weeks ago, I’m kinda known for being awful at confessionalizing

This round sure went from "I have no idea what is going on because nobody will say anything" to "I have no idea what is going on because this sure came out of nowhere" really fast.
