I guess we can't embed video? Whatever I don't care bring it on I'm ready to win this game!
I'm a bit busy with work during Mon-Fri so I am worried I'm going to have a hard time but my goal is to find the time to keep messages going. My goal is to be social enough that people want to keep me, want to work with me. I would like to be that way with everyone. But I also want to be strategic. I want to move with the flow of the game and be adaptable, but in a way I can say I affect the course. I want to bring myself to the end. I want to take some hits but still come out on top. I want to succeed at being social, strategic, and adaptable. That perhaps is my mantra for this game.
I'm excited to play! I already have my first message in my inbox. It's like a valentine I don't want to open it yet because it feels special to have it and once I open it the magic is gone so I want to savor it for a bit.
Lastly I just want to say #BlackLivesMatter

The advent of group PMs poses an interesting challenge. I want to get the jump on any alliances being formed. I want to be in as many group chats as possible. I got to charm everyone.

I think we did pretty good, but I'm scared we're wrong about #4. Losing someone early on isn't the end of the world, though, as long as it isn't me.
I don't have any group PMs yet. Everyone kind of vanished after the challenge. I'll be here all day because I need to capitalize on the times I can be here. There's a couple of people I'm starting to like but I'm not ready to pass out the "a" word yet to anyone. With 7 I need to be part of a solid 4. I think I can get there.

Who do you have a stronger affinity for? Not necessarily an ally at this point, just you feel that you like them more than others.

I like Rust Cohle and Nick Wilde the most.
I've talked more with Detective Pikachu and Kate Macer, but they're somewhat hard to talk to at times. I think Kate is trying but she keeps throwing out esoteric references. I'm trying not to be sassy in my confessional but it's hard.
I've talked to Chan and Penelope the least. They both seem interesting.

He sent it to Rust, Nick, and myself, saying he's most comfortable with us.
This comes after Rust, Nick, and myself all kind of agreed we liked each other the most, so Chan may have just lucked into an alliance of 4.

I just wonder if Kate is more useful as an ally than as a first boot from our tribe. I wouldn't lose sleep if Pikachu went instead of her.
The problem is I don't know if it's worth it to try and save her from being a consensus boot. If I fight too hard that could be dangerous. And it's a move I'm not sure that needs to be made. I'm worried that she might get swap screwed if she survives, as other players may find her one line PMs not worth aligning with. So saving her now might not amount to much.
The short of it is I am tempted to try something interesting but I'm probably going to do the boring thing and vote her out if her name comes up (and we lose, of course).

My agenda is to work and take occasional breaks answering PMs, mostly. I slept also.

So right now there's the Chan/Nick/Rust/Me group PM
Pikachu told me Nick pitched him an alliance of Pika/Nick/Rust/Me
No reason not to go along with both as potential alliances. I think I trust Rust the most, Nick proposing this to Pikachu without telling me is a little weird. What if he's got a side deal with Pikachu?

Pikachu's gotten better. There's something about Penelope that's almost trying to hard, she's sweet but just a little cloying. That might just be her personality and maybe I just need to talk to her more.

I think Rust wants Chan to be our fourth, while Pikachu tells me Nick wants Pikachu to be our fourth. Nick hasn't said shit about this to me so that's weird, and Rust is mistrustful of Pikachu, so that's awkward. Rust and I agree Chan is probably an island and we are all he has, whereas Pikachu could have some side deal with Nick and/or Penelope.
As for me I want both to be our fourth. I wouldn't mind if we had alliances with everyone pretending to be the fourth.
It's too early for drama though, so I want Nick to tell me about his feelings about Pikachu so I asked him direct.

Guaranteed 19th place or better. Though I'd like to finish in the top 1.
My ranking has not changed. Penelope is here more so that's good, so it may change. I'm wrestling between thinking that we have to vote at least someone out before tribe swap with whom exactly we should vote out.

My paranoia is kicking in that if we never lose anyone and then I get swapped by myself onto a tribe with other tribe people, I could get swap screwed with people trying to eliminate someone who was on a tribe who never lost a member. I think this is really unlikely. But the prejudice of being on a tribe that won could follow all of us into the next round of play if we don't lose anyone.
Chan is a target but I want to keep him since the group PM "alliance" is probably all he has. Leaving Kate, who is newer, which I would feel bad for eliminating.

Why would letting Chan or Kate go be a mistake? How would it help your game to get rid of Penelope or Pikachu?

I feel like Chan and Kate don't have a lot of connections, and one of their main connections is me. Letting Chan go when we practically have a four person alliance is letting someone loyal go, and letting Kate go is letting someone on the periphery who wouldn't vote for me (probably) go.
Pikachu might be a mistake to let go too, Nick might get mad, plus he'll probably vote with me these first few rounds, but I'm kind of wary of him.
That kind of leaves Penelope? Who is fine but might make Pikachu and Kate mad if she's the vote. But she's probably not aligned with me. Getting rid of Penelope means getting rid of someone who may be closer to other people and may not make my close allies (Nick and Rust) mad.

What's your thought process going into this challenge? Are you optimistic about your chances of doing well?

I think this challenge is going to come down to a bit of luck, honestly, so we'll see if we have it or not. I don't know how to answer it but I imagine everyone is having a similar situation.
Chapter 2 was supposed to be round 2 but then I got too busy to update so maybe it'll be at swap or maybe it will be if we lose this challenge.
