It feels pretty clear to me that pear is going with the loyalty schtick in hindsight after looking back on the game. He's self aware and knows he won't beat Coco based on gameplay alone. He needs to appeal to something different.

....Wh... why?? Why would the jury care whether your FTC opponents had tried and failed to eliminate you? Wouldn't that, if anything, give you a leg up against them?
You claim to have played survivor before but you don't seem to have much of a handle on what jurors are looking for in a winner. :/

The first time you do it is a bit shocking because the power imbalance swing is so harsh. You have literally no power and the jury can do whatever they want to you, when most will likely have reason to be upset at you. nopony plays perfect games so there will be negatives that can be picked at.
I think the key is you have to get in the headspace that it's a game, and this is the final hurdle to get over. The final boss.
If you take it personally, then the people you voted out will take it more personally as well.

Although if you read this postgame Rarity, you're a solid survivor player. You're more than capable of winning a game. Sometimes it doesn't work out, and you were in a game with one of the most dominant players ever. Don't take it personally. Getting grilled at a FTC is something a lot of players go through lol.

Coco decided she wanted Rarity and Pear in the end awhile ago I think. So that's given her a ton of time to create a weaker persona when talking to them so she seems less threatening.

I bet quite a few players this game imagined doing that to have a final big move. But now if anypony does it, it will look like they're ripping off Chris xD and probably not gain as much respect.

Lately it seems like Coco has been controlling the narrative. DJ, Soarin, and Granny all seem to have taken a step back behind her.
Soarin has probably played the sloppiest game of the 4, but he's got a style that just makes him super endearing and I think he could easily convince the jury to vote him.
I think DJ has played a fantastic and proactive game, but I get the vibe he'd be the type to underwhelm at FTC.

Especially since they figured out Queen still has the item to make Coco powerless, they know they have the power to make a big move.

Rainbow and Rarity were on the back foot for most of the first merge vote because they missed a bunch and had no choice but to compromise on a wagon they didn't want.apparently the strategy for this game is to log off right after immunity results and show up late to tribal the next morning and figure out whats up
The log off meta feels really dirty, until everypony does it at the same time and you end up with the sogaleo vote from legendary. It's a self correcting problem.
Granny and Coco maybe did it the first vote, but from what it looks like they certainly didn't the next vote.
And... I don't think it's working for Pear either in terms of winnability. (Although he can probably claim credit for the pinky boot in his resume)

Despite all the shit I gave Starlite, I do have respect for how hard he's playing the game. I don't agree with a lot of his moves (like idoling me out of all the potential ponies was probably a bad play) but he is entertaining and I wouldn't hate seeing him scramble back to the top.

It's clear none of the "goat alliance" (is this the official term even though they're kind of in the drivers seat somehow.) like Coco, and Coco is aware, so it's probably the best move to weaken them instead of losing one of her allies.

Yeah, I chuckled reading Discord calling it the goat alliance. I did kind of agree but a tight 4 person alliance should in theory be an influential and credible threat.
But this is such a trainwreck of an alliance that they really do seem to be a goat alliance. You have Pinky pissing off everypony who voted her even further, Queen not talking to anypony outside and accidentally revealing secrets, Starlite and Derpy and their whole dysfunctional relationship and strategies. I'm getting really embarrassed in hindsight that they managed to get me out.
The skill gap between those 4 and DJ/Soarin/Granny/Coco is so large that Rarity and Rainbow probably don't even view this as a swing vote.

I think Rarity would benefit from all of queen/pinkie/starlite staying in the game for the foreseeable future. There are a lot of ponies on the anti-pinky squad that aren't fans of Rarity (Granny, Soarin, DJish at the least) and i don't think the endgame path would be easy for Rarity if he loses the pinky crew. One of the biggest surprises to me reading confessionals was Rarity genuinely voting Pinky (I assumed he knew about the idol).
