Stephen King'sItscared the bejeebers out of me in high school (didn't shower for ~2 weeks- was afraid of drains). I'm big on Clive Barker right now, too. Asimov's Foundation books were wicked cool, and Heinlein'sThe Moon is a Harsh Mistresswas rocking, as well as the follow-up (something about cat and walking through walls).

I spent over a year hanging out at a comedy website where social status was measured by popular vote. I did fairly well, but its too hard working to please people all the time.cicero wrote:How do you manage to be so goddamned funny all the time and why do you think it is that you don't get enough credit for it on the board here?
There are way too many opinions of funny here, and while I could drop some viscous (and often well deserved) burn on folks adn catch some of that 'cred', its mean and I'm not a mean person. Vengeful, cynical, sarcastic, yes. Mean, not really.
My daughter played for a GORC rec council. They were the Wildcats. Needing an AOL username many moons ago, I came up with gorckat (two c's in the middle would of been dumb ).OhGodMyLife wrote:How did you decide on your username?
It also anagrams to:
racktog (sacrifice a rack, gets +1/+1 til end of turn)
go track (should've done track in high school- almost broke sophomore long jump and 4x400 relay records)
cork tag
rock tag (played tag with a bb gun once, but never rocks)
kart cog
And by far the best:

Am I the only dreamer?
Is anybody real?
Is this just one big test?
Can anybody feel?
Can anybody hear me?
Does anybody care?
Does anybody see me?
When they point and stare?
Is anybody out there?
Can they understand?
Can anyone be touched?
Can they hold my hand?
Am I even a dreamer?
Am I even real?
Did I pass the test?
Can I even feel?
Am I just a robot?
Wound up and let loose?
Do I act on impulse?
Is my free will recluse?
Where are all the answers?
The ones for which I strove
Will anybody show me?
Is there anyone who knows?
Good luck with those.Last edited by Elias_the_thief on Sat Sep 06, 2008 6:57 pm, edited 1 time in total.I play the games rul gud.-

We're not here for long, so don't be an ass. Pick each other up, help each other out. Use some common sense, open your eyes, don't lose your liberty. Fred Phelps leaps to mind. He's a stain.Anticollie wrote:If you were given 3 'free kills,' to whom would they be gracefully gifted?
The guy who molested one of my best friends in middle school is another.
For the third, we need to go back in time and whack the clown who thought a gay Hutt from New Orleans would be a good character for the Clone Wars movie. It was passably entertaining until that point (even with all the 'Sky-guy' and baby Hutt crap).- gorckat

Yes. All sorts of things become possible as our understanding of the universe improves.Simenon wrote:

Do you prefer open or closed setups?
Normal or themed?
Traditional or variation?
Stoofer or Glork?
~~~
Do you think an understanding of textbook anthropology would assist a mafia player? By how much?
Automatic "12 players: One Game!!" question goes here.
Where do you think the state of mafia on mafiascum is going? Do you like that direction? If not, how can we change it? If so, how do you contribute to these growing trends?
As a townie, I think I prefer open- less speculation on what is really out there cuts a lot of chafe. As scum, closed is always better. Makes claiming to a doc who didn't believe the claimed gunsmith and hammered to put the town in LYLO plausibleSimenon wrote:Do you prefer open or closed setups?
I've enjoyed the themes I've played, and most of my normals, so I'd have to say "split".
Traditional and themes have their places.
I've played with Glork, but never Stoofer. I tend not to trust players who've been around longer than me- they're always scum
Maybe, but perhaps not because it was anthropology. The dedication to learn and understand something would make a player better.Simenon wrote:Do you think an understanding of textbook anthropology would assist a mafia player? By how much?
Hmm...Simenon wrote:Automatic "12 players: One Game!!" question goes here.
Seol (he IC'd in my first game, haven't played with him since, but enjoy reading his posts)
Muerrto (I think I have his number, so if he's scum, I'll know )
Adel (need to see what goes on in that twisted head in person)
I'll have to think a bit about the rest. I've played with a bunch of cool people, and there's a bunch more I haven't but can't recall at the moment.
I think, or at least hope, its moving toward a more concrete intolerance of flaking/bailing on games. Some folks chronically drop, and I don't stumble across a ton of games with less than 6 replacements. There are classic games that people point to that didn't have any replacements. They also played faster, which is making a comeback in the number of games running fixed deadlines.Simenon wrote:Where do you think the state of mafia on mafiascum is going? I think mith could make some changes to the queue that would help (haven't looked in that SI thread to see if he's weighed in). Now that I'm trying it, I think more should be asked of mods. A half-hearted modding just makes a game sour.
My game's not done, but when it is I hope to post a nice meaty thread in MD about experience requirements and how they helped or hurt my game, and it'll touch on deadlines and activity, too.
Yeah- I convinced my partner we shouldn't shoot the cop (Seol) after he self-outed Day 1 thinking he'd be an obvious lynch. RiiiiightSimenon wrote:Remember your first game? Remember how much we all sucked?Copyright © MafiaScum. All rights reserved.
