Yos' Beach Bash 2009 - Completed - VIDEOS & PICS

ITT, we will discuss the planning of Yosarian's Beach Bash 2009...provided that Yos2 and I can get the beach house in Brigantine, NJ again during the summer of 2009.

The months of interest are currently June or August 2009. Exactly when will depend on the schedules of the beach house owners and some input from people interested in attending.

Just wanted to get the ball rolling.

We had a really great time at this year's beach bam and definitely want to roll out the sandy carpet again for another event.

On Saturday night, our non-mafia associates are invited to join the party. It'll hopefully work as well as it did last year, though Stan won't be able to make it. Hopefully Jay will be there again and will pick up the guitar. That was fun...at least for me.

And if you have karaoke PS2 games, bring them. We have 2 and Ether had a couple. We might need a backup PS2, as Yos2 has broken ours but I have since fixed it because I am awesome.

The Beach Bash is scheduled for Thursday, June 25th through Monday, June 29th. That should give you animals enough time to get your Diplomacy on.

Oh, that was pretty funny. Even if you were drunk I doubt you would have given yourself away that easily.

We still have to check with the beach house owners as to whether or not we'll be able to book the beach house next year.

We are also still working on figuring out when to have the gathering and how long it should be.

If he goes back to his job in education this fall, then he'd prefer to have the beach bash in June after school lets out. Unless there are any snow days, the last day of school would be the 15th.

This year, we had a 3-day event and it went well. If the 2009 event pulls more people from further away, Yos believes that the duration should be longer to make it worth their while to come out. I think that 3 days are optimal, but maybe we could make 4-5 days work.

I'm up for a four or five day event. If I'm still in Jersey, its an easy enough trip for me.

As Malyss said earlier, we're trying to decide how long to make it; probably somewhere between 3-4 days and a full week. We don't want to make it too short, especally if people fly in (like Patrick might do, according to rumor...), but we also don't want to have a situation where some people come on some days and miss seeing other people, or whatever. Still, if we get some people who'd be interested in staying for a little longer, we might be able to manage it; so, how long would people be interested in staying at the beach?

If (IF, Ether...) I were to hypothetically arrange a holiday in the USA to coincide with YPBB09 then I wouldn't expect to stay there the whole time. (I'd want to see, like, places that weren't a beach-hut) So any more than 3 days seems excessive.
