Look at it this way, Gnome, we could just go ahead and lynch therefore skipping the scums' turns. I can't see No Lynch as being a good idea at all.

I don't understand the "skipping scums' turns" thing, Fish.

Gnome's suggestion made sense to me...usually the worst that happens during a day is the loss of one pro-town role and the best is the loss of one scum role -- the worst has already happened. Why chance compounding the loss?

I do want dragonmaster to speak up, though.

I think I understand what he means. He means that lynching today would be the equal to skipping night two and going to day two's lynch. Therefore, skipping the mafia's chance to kill. However, that also skips any investigative opportunities.

Okay. I had time to go back and look at why everyone thought I was suspicious. That was a mistake on my part. I didn't know if I had voted anyone yet, so I just unvoted because I didn't have time right then to read the whole thread. I do find it really sad though that my one little post caused seven people to vote for me. That's kind of stupid. Good grief. Three more votes and I'm lynched. If there were three mafia, they could easily have come up with some atupid reason and lynched me. Then you would have been down two pro-town roles on the first day. Anyways, now that I've had time to read the thread, sorry about my post, I messed up. People mess up, but that's no reason to go and lynch them.

To clarify what I was saying, here is a quote from Antrax about the same thing:
Antrax in Rumours wrote:Also, Dourgrim, we can cheat if mod-kills don't end the day. Whoever is about to get lynched and is on the town's side, quote the mod, that way you get mod-killed for free and we keep lynching without giving the mafia a night to act in. Only mafias won't go with the plan, and they'll get lynched consequently. [/why mod-kills end the day in Antrax games]

You didn't remeber that you didn't post until then? That seems very unprobable to me.

Do you really think the Mafia is so stupid to they lynch you at that moment? They'd only make themselves sure lynch targets for day 2.

I'm not going to put Dragonmaster any closer to a lynch, but I do think he's pretty suspect at this point. If I have time later tonight (finals, y'all understand... I sure don't though), I'll convince myself to vote him.

And
UnFOS: Thoth
, apologies for misreading Stix.

I think no lynch would be as bad idea as it usually is. I understand the idea of "compounding the loss", but Stix is lost either way we go; if we decide to lynch at this point, it has the same risks and benefits that it always did. Another way to think of it is, we face three possibilities today: lose one townie, lose one townie and kill one scum, or lose two townies. In all three of those, we lose a townie, so it's as inevitable as night coming after the lynch. Since it's inevitable, we can only use it for information, and then proceed as we normally would.

Why you're wanting me role-claim this early on in the game I'm not sure, sounds pretty suspicoius to me, but whatever. I'm a homeless person. Each night, I can choose to either stay awake and look around town all night, or I can go to sleep. If I look around town I can't vote during the day, but I can still converse with people. I can vote if I sleep through the night.

Oh I forgot to add. I will not go along with a "no lynch", ever. In fact I will gladly attempt to discourage it.

I can't believe this simple statement almost got him lynched without a chance to explain himself:
dragonmaster wrote:Can we have a vote count please?
Oh, and if I'm voting for anyone,
unvote: whomever because I have nothing to go on.
When he got a chance to post, the game had already gotten to two and a half pages. Sometimes I jump in when the game begins and throw out a random vote, and come back later only to find a lot to catch up on with no more time than I had when I randomly voted. OTOH, there's precious little to go on during day 1, and I can sort of understand the urge to pounce on the slightest misstep.

I'm just back from vacation in Florida, where I carefully avoided IS, and I've goofed off the morning trying to read this whole thread. Thr first order of business would be to
unvote: Jolle
, because it was an OMGUS vote, and he's changed his.

vote: IS
, because it's been so long since I've had the opportunity.

What was painfully obvious for the first four pages, but was finally discussed recently, was that BananaBob's role was revealed by a reporter and not that he is a reporter. I can't believe the paragon of mafia hunters would make such a mistake. And to ask why BananaBob wasn't mod-killed while PopsicleStix was - what's up with that?

When I sat down to get caught up, I planned to vote IS just for old time's sake and then to change it to whomever seemed suspicious. Instead, I find myself leaving it there.

And for the record, I do not support a no-lynch either.
FOS: Mr_Gnome
for suggesting it.

It seems there's something missing from that role. If he stays awake he can converse and not vote, if he sleeps he can vote (and obviously converse too). Are you immune to nightkill or something like that if you stay awake?
