Role/rule fishing stuff. I FoS'd both you and Battousai for that quite a ways back, and you continuing it is a good place to start looking for scum, IMO."By far the towniest player in the game. Very good scum hunting, doesn't let anyone off the hook. All in all I find Mac's posts insightful and thought-provoking. " - Vel-Rahn Koon-

Yeah. Looks like there was an error in the sixth vote count, it was edited after I posted that. It all lines up correctly now.

Not gonna lie...I completely forgot this game was starting
I'm really glad that we figured out the voting order for today. I believe that it will have to change each day at least enough to take out those that die. I also wonder exactly what the FOS:es do. I don't usually use FOS on people so I wonder if I should start.
I honestly don't find anyone scummy at this point in the game. I don't think enough has happened to warrant much.
However, Korts keeps pushing Battousai to claim his rule but I thought he already did.
So now I don't understand what the push is for him to claim since he already has. Just my two cents.Battousai wrote:Since my role told me I could that the mod is a player, I want to see what happens when I

Hey, what if we lynched Battle Mage? I wonder.
@Jex, I'm not really sure if that's the rule. If it is, Battousai will confirm it. I also don't like how you're trying to sound uninportant and stay under the radar by adding the last sentence ("Just my two cents").
That's one twisted sentence. I had to read it three times to understand...Nocmen wrote:I think that Korts way of saying that is somewhat suspect, but not enough to warrant a vote from me for that.scumchat never die-

Ya, the rule was that the mod is a player. It was on the piece of paper the cat gave me.
Mac: What Korts did isn't scummy enough to place a vote, IMO. His question and answers to it, wouldn't help him fakeclaim later. Just as mine wouldn't either, because it seemed I was the only one who got this and if all the townies did and I was scum, how would I know about it?-

Disagree. Despite being 5 pages into the thread, we have for all intents and purposes barely left the random voting stage, since most of that was working out the voting mechanics. That's plenty to place a vote this early. I don't have a ton invested in it, but I haven't really seen anything else worth voting for.Battousai wrote:Mac: What Korts did isn't scummy enough to place a vote, IMO. This time, on Mod Watch™:
First half of this seems to be a quote from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (just watched that recently, btw. It's pretty messed up. I like it. ^^). The second half doesn't match TMoHS though; but it almost matches another Battlestar quote."Commencing nullification of data-link. Repairs ordered to relay zero zero zero zero."
This is from Serial Experiments Lain. Definitely a "screwed up animes" theme going here."Close the world. Enter the next."
"It's best not to think about it too much, really. Just roll the ball already."
This might be connected to Katamari Damacy; I found a similar quote on tvtropes.org referencing Katamari Damacy, but I don't know if it's in the game. The quote makes me think of roulette.
Also, the quote in votecount number five ("So long as one soul exists, it will be eternal proof that Mankind once existed") might be from Neon Genesis Evangelion as well. I suspect it might depend on how you translate it (the quote I saw was about people rather than souls).
Mod Watch™ is presented by Cavebear - keeping just about infinite loads of details from various anime handy so he can keep you informed on this stuff (ok, fine, Google was useful too) since 2008!
It's slightly worrying (or at least weird) that Korts could vote Battle Mage and Battousai could vote Tarhalindur but MafiaSSK can't vote Tar. MafiaSSK, can you vote Battle Mage?
Why'd you say that and then tell us anyway?Battousai wrote:I don't think I'm allowed to tell you the rule, as it's a special ability my role has, I think.
Regarding Korts: there are some oddities in Korts' posts thus far. First of all, he's got a rule infraction. Then there's the thing with the parentheses; asking if people have them, FoS:ing MafiaSSK for not having them, and having role information that everyone have them?
What's "pretty much know"? Do you know this or do you assume it? How sure are you?Korts wrote:I pretty much know from role information that everyone has these parentheses. Thus the FoS on MafiaSSK, too.
Same question here; do you know this? Do you base it on anything?Korts wrote:I am pretty confident if the mod gets the majority votes, someone else will die for him.
You were pretty confident about what would happen if we lynched the mod, why not now?Korts wrote:Hey, what if we lynched Battle Mage? I wonder.-

In the last votecount,Tar put me as voting him. So I want to wait one more votecount to see if my vote goes elsewhere.Cavebear with a toothache wrote:

I want to try something completely out of the blue on this, and before I do, I think I'd like some more opinion on this.
If the game works like normal mafia games, then more or less anything we say in bold is addressed to the mod, right?
could we, in theory (or actuallity, I s'pose), ask him, in bold font, if we got the voting system correct? Now, life is civilized. Once there was a city, barbaric in its ways. Yet, they were an empire. But even before that, they were two brothers. They fought. Remus said ow, and it all began.-

Tarhalindur wrote:Tarhalindur Mostly Mountainous - Frequently Asked Questions
1) What the fuck is going on here?
That's a very good question, isn't it?
2) What do you mean, you can't tell me any of the other rules?
Exactly what I said. What are you, illiterate?
3) So should I assume that there aren't any rules at all?
Not necessarily. I recommend you look up a little piece of philosophy called Pascal's Wager. It might be somewhat relevant to this situation.
4) But you're not God!
And how do you know that, again?
5) Will you at least tell us how many votes it is to lynch?
Did I not say that I cannot tell you any of the other rules?
6) When is our deadline?
Once again, I would like to remind you that I cannot tell you any of the other rules. Don't worry, only a bastard Mod would let a deadline sneak up on you without any warning...
... hmm, maybe you should lynch really, really quickly.
7) I saw your ruleset in Tarhalindur Mostly Mountainous. Can I assume that your rules here are similar?
You might think that. I couldn'tpossiblycomment.
8) What the heck is this "Rules Infraction" I see added onto my post?
It might be an indicator that you screwed up and broke the rules somehow. It might be the result of a game mechanic.
Or, it might be that your Mod is a bastard Mod and is just placing "Rules Infraction" at the end of random posts.
You decide!
9) Why are you not allowed to tell us any of the other rules?
I am not at liberty to reply to that question, either.
10) Why are you saying that these are the Frequently Asked Questions for Tarhalindur Mostly Mountainous when this is Mind Screw Mafia?
... *sigh*

"Pretty much know" means about 80-90% sure. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I think it's more than safe to assume.Cavebear with a toothache wrote:Regarding Korts: there are some oddities in Korts' posts thus far. With this setup, I'm not 100% confident in anything. YES I base this idea on something, NO I don't feel like telling you what it is I base it on.Cavebear with a toothache wrote:

Because in BM's case, I just chose a scummer at random out of those not involved in this game.Cavebear with a toothache wrote:
