...three and a half months ago, the town collapsed into an era of instability and chaos. Over the following weeks and months, however, the Townspeople managed to gradually regain control of the town, restoring order, and forcing the Mafia back into the shadows. And the people lived happily ever after...

Right?

Wrong! The Mafia have infiltrated the town once more, and have begun systematically killing off your people. It's true!

• Have fun! If you aren't having fun, I want to know why. If you're sucking large amounts of fun out of the game, then you'll be dealt with, most likely by forced replacement. Don't take the game personally, and don't flame other players. So there.

Day, Night, Twilight and Daybreak

• During the Day phase, players will discuss and vote until a player has been lynched. You can vote for there to be No-Lynch, but this also requires a majority of votes. Once the vote required to reach a majority has been cast, that person is dead. Unvoting will not undo the lynch, and the game will enter the Twilight
  Zone
  phase.
  
• During the Twilight phase, players (except the player lynched, if appropriate) are still allowed to discuss, but votes will be ignored. The Twilight phase has an indeterminate length of time, as it is simply the length of time between the actual lynching vote, and the death scene/thread lock. The game then proceeds to the Night phase.
  
• During the Night phase, any players who have powers which can be used at night can use their powers. This includes, but is not limited to, Mafia sending in their kill. The night phase has a deadline for actions, normally of around 3 real-life days. If you do not wish to make a choice, please send in "No Choice". Players who do not send in a choice will be treated as having sent "No Choice".
  
• Daybreak follows Night, and is simply the period between the Nightchoice deadline and the thread being opened for Day to begin. Choices received are resolved, and therefore any choices sent during this time will be ignored. During this time, prods will be sent to any player who did not submit a choice. This includes players who did not have a choice and players who are part of groups from which one member did submit a choice.

Inactivity, Prods and Deadlines

• Lurking is not allowed as a strategy in this game, as it is highly likely to slow the game down to a halt. Any player who becomes inactive will be prodded after 4 days (weekends counting as 1), and will be replaced if there are no posts after 7 days of inactivity (weekends counting as 1). If you are prodded more than 3 times in the same game Day, or 5 times overall, you will be replaced.
  
• If you anticipate on being unavailable for more than a 3 day period (weekends counting as 1), then please inform us, either in thread, or by sending me a PM. Posting in the V/LA thread will not save you. Generally, absences of less than a week will be allowed, however longer absences will require a replacement.
  
• If the thread activity falls too low, a retractable deadline will be set. The deadline will be retracted if activity picks up. If the day lasts too long (and I am the sole judge of what is "too long"), a non-retractable deadline will be set. When the deadline hits, the player with the most votes will be lynched, provided that player has gained a "majority majority" of the votes (ie. 5 votes with 18 alive). If there is a tie, then votes will be removed in the order in which they were placed, starting with the most recent vote, until one player has the most votes. That player will then be lynched.

Please read the above rules carefully, as a number of factors vary depending on the size and type of the game being played.
