Ghost Rules:

All normal game rules apply, except where modified below.

Rather than voting each other out, you will be voting for the living players. During each Day/Night cycle, you can discuss in this thread, voting for the living player you want to see dead. At the end of Night for the living players, the ghosts will haunt and kill the player who is the Condorcet winner amongst the ghosts, if there is one. Otherwise, there will be no ghost kill. Note that you can reach a majority and later change your mind - however, a majority vote will always produce a Condorcet winner.

Your win condition remains unchanged, unless your ghost PM says otherwise. All ghosts are dead for the purpose of win conditions.

Sample Ghost PMWhat? The game's just started and you're already dead?

You may only post in the Hotel California thread, with the other ghosts. You have read-only access to the Basement, and may of course read the main thread, but
do not post there
. You are dead.

Your win condition is unchanged.

Mortal Coil

You head toward the light, and enter Mr. Grey's house just like the rest of the passengers. Everything feels a bit fuzzy as you approach the front door, but you ignore the feeling as post-traumatic stress or something.

You first notice that something is not right when one of the passengers begins to count. You're not sure at first, but you think he has skipped over you. You begin your own count, and come up with a different number.

"14? I count 17."

Two of the others look at you, but no one else seems to notice.

"Er... ok, I guess it doesn't matter whether there's six of us missing or three, it's just that..."

You trail off as you see that something is different about the two who are paying attention to you. They seem... hazy. You reach out to tap one of the other passengers on the shoulder, to whisper to him and see if he is seeing the same thing as you.

Your hand passes right through his body. He shivers.

"Oh."

THINK OF IT AS A VACATION.

A brief chat with big bald and bony reveals that you are stuck in the situation, unable to move on to the afterlife while you are in this house.

WELCOME TO THE HOTEL CALIFORNIA.

You decide that, as long as you're stuck here, you may as well listen in and help out the innocent passengers. There is an evil among them. You can feel it.

IH (?), Nibbler Twins (?), and Sarcastro (?) are dead.

It is Day/Night 1. With 3 ghosts present, a majority is 2 votes. The Condorcet winner, if there is one, will be killed at the end of Night 1, and join you at the start of Day 2.

What is this insane parallel universe? Am I dead or alive?

OK, we're 3 here. But there are 6 missing. Therefore, there must be a parallel game going on.

Yeah, they're alive, we're dead.

We have read only access to the basement, BUT do they have read only access to Hotel California? I'm doubting it, because they haven't said anything about us yet.

Yeah, they have speculated about how we might be in existence, but I don't think that they know for certain of our existence as we do theirs.

Well, this is interesting. Basically we are here to just scumhunt as normal and vote, except that we are dead.

I'm not sure what if any extent we want to communicate or give advice, since only you two can read what we write, and we have no assurances that you are of the same alignment we are.

I've personally been thinking, and if we're truly dead, it's doubtful we'll come back.

So if we ARE dead, I think it would be a little bit safer to assume we're all town. If scum, or an anti town member IS here, as I could be the only town, then it will only help them so much to mislead us, because I'm pretty certain that, unless the town does extremely well, we'll have mostly town players here, unless we're the only three ghosts, and we'll stay the only three ghosts.

The only thing that makes me wary about voicing everything is scum communication with partners, which I'm about to PM Grey about. If we're isolated, then we have a much better chance to help the town. The only way we WOULDN'T be able to help the town is if two of us were on the same anti town team, but what are the odds of that?

So PMing grey now.

What does everyone think of Machiavellian-Mafia's post 60, where he "bandwagons" a missing player?

Niv's sentence structure and spelling are exactly the same as always.

I also dislike Volkan in general.

I dislike how he auto puts pooky at 100 even more.

This is going to be frustrating.

I agree that we should tentatively assume that we're all town. As far as I can see, we're like a sort of vig-committee. Since I don't think it's possible for us to die, all we have to do if we do think someone might be scum is ignore them when deciding who we kill.

Back on the topic of the main thread, I don't like MM's "good idea, I'll do it too even though it's meaningless the second time" vote for CKD, either.

Of course, the one problem with this set-up is that it doesn't give us a lot of motivation to really talk throughout the entire day, since anything we do now is fairly meaningless - we have to follow the schedule of day and night that they create in the main thread. It's a good thing there are posting requirements. But oh well.

For now,

Meh, I got a , "I can't answer that" response, so power role speculation is out.

Also, we can still do condorcets, which is helpful.

I may form one in the next day or two.

I'm interested in if and how our votes show up.

If we are all town, we could all vote at once and take someone from -3 to lynch, if we wanted.

However, we probably wouldn't want to do that on an unclaimed player. This death thing is frustrating.

Nibbler, I don't think our votes affect them during the day. I suppose it's never explicitly stated that they don't, but I was under the impression that our votes were only useful for killing players at the end of the night.

I think the rules state that we are actually voting, and it's not a lynch. Whoever is the condorcet winner at night is then killed by us.

Look at it as if we're a jury.

Ah, we understand now. So we are a jury/vig group. Interesting.

I'm betting we were the result of night kills. So unless there was a cross kill night 0, then we are pro-town. I bet the odds of scum coming among us increase as the game goes on.

Hmph. Pondering more, I don't see how leaving all our thoughts out in the open could hurt here. I think going on the assumption that at least one other, and probably both others, of us, is town, makes sense. If that's not the case, we should be able to tell if they are protecting anyone or something like that.

We are trying to lynch a living player. Mmmmm. We see them, they don't see us, quite possibly.

I'm almost certain they don't see us, since they were wondering where we were before. Although, that makes me think of something. We don't have any guarantee that
nobody
can see us. A "medium" role doesn't seem too farfetched, although obviously they'd want to keep it a secret, or else they would have revealed it already. That could mean it's a scum role, perhaps, or it might just mean that the person sees no reason to reveal their knowledge yet. Just something to think about, perhaps.

Well there'd really be no reason to reveal it. It might also get them lynched.

They could also NOT be able to reveal it. Like threatened with a modkill.

It's also possible that we could be revived, though doubtful. I'm also curious if we'll be the only ghosts.

Be back in a few minutes with thoughts on the thread today.

No Lynch should be at the bottom of your list. Period.

Vote: MichelSableheart
This post I also find odd; this is a completely crap reason to vote someone. No lynch should not be at the bottom of your list if you are a power role, and some disagree that you should ever put yourself above no lynch.
