Oh I have some questions.

1. What vegetable will you not eat unless there's a least $500 involved?
2. How many grandchildren do you have?
3. How sure are you that Quagmire is serving a sentence in a Juvenile Detention Center?
4. Why do you call yourself cicero?
5. Why the avatar with the burly toes and wooden flip flops?
6. Your opinion please. What TV show is the clearest sign of the decadence of society and why?
7. Do you despise people that drive gas-guzzling sports utility vehicles?
8. Give the name of every movie your remember watching 3 times at least, and that you wouldn't mind watching a fourth time (not counting The Sound of Music).
9. Are you intimidated by Adel?
10. Hawaii or Alaska?

Woohoo! This came up quick. I figured I'd get my turn next June!

OK. First batch:

Death by misadventure or kicking in your sleep while laying on your dentures?

I'll take the dentures death, please. But I've lived a really great life so far with a lot of adventures so if the death by misadventure comes I'm cool with it now.

Why don't I like you?

Shrug. Ask someone who cares.

Honestly, I think you dislike people who disagree with you and you think as a newbie I'm too big for my britches. You also dislike that I think there should be more rules on mafiascum and in games. You're more libertarian in your mafiascum outlook.

I should make this clear though. A few people on here seem to have stronger feelings about me than I have about them. I think age is a factor in this to be honest.

Where are you when you answer this question?

My office just after screening Kill Bill for my work colleagues in a boardroom. :D

Where were you 4 hours before you answered this question?

A Christmas lunch with work colleagues at a pub enjoying a beer.

Where were you a year before you answered this question?

In my office being incredibly happy that I finally landed an amazing job with my own office, after a period of political misadventure that may have eventually led to my death by misadventure (ultimate culmination of poverty).

Where would really rather be, than answering this question?

I love my office, but I'd rather be on vacation scuba diving. I havent gone diving in five years and I really want to go again. All in all I think the answer is probably thailand because I could party, lie on a beach, scuba dive and generally have the time of my life for very few dollars a day.

Where do you want to be 5 years from now?

Same place I am now. Just with a promotion or two. I'd also ideally like to start a family. Ideally. Theoretically. Yeah.

Rate the players on scum.

I dont want to duck this question, but the truth is I simply don't have the experience on mafiascum to make this determination fairly. Im not sure I could rank 20 players in total, to be honest. I will say a few things about players though. I think the vast majority of players are very good and without more experience I really cant tell how good. Some of the players with the best reputations, like Glork, Meme, Seol I havent had the privilege of playing with.

Mister Flay impresses me a lot but I'm not sure it's whether that's as a player or just because he often can come across as an adult in a room full of kids. In terms of generally good players. Pooky is very good, very smart. I want to follow him in to battle in every game and that will some day be my downfall.

Some of the other good players I've had the privilege of playing with include - in no particular order Yosarian, Mastermind of Sin, Adel, Pooky, Ectomancer, Fonz, Skruffs (although I think he pursues bad cases), Anix, Tarhalindur... I dont know. The list is long. There are a lot of players who are about equally good in different ways. There's a guy named Pwayne66 who has my number and always fools me.

In the middle is Battlemage who needs to shake off the confirmation bias and such but I really enjoy playing with him and he's made himself one of the more survivable players. No one wants to NK him and no one wants to lynch him. So is that bad play or brilliant play? On the other hand, no one ever wants to follow onto any of his wagons though either. Durable but no detective. Currently distracting as town and bulletproof as scum (I bet).

Dripping Goofball is a great lady but as a player is very insane. Can be distracting but she's good at stirring the pot and can create information. Some good. Some bad.

In terms of bad players - Skitzer, roach and Guppy all have some growing up to do. They seem very young and tend to be a lodestone that drags down day one information.

And as much as I hate mentioning him because it gives him the attention he craves, the site really needs to consider banning Albert B. Rampage. He's not playing the game. He's trolling for attention and is a destructive force in games.

Apart from that Mrs Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?

... now now stop crying, it's nothing a good rogering won't remedy, luv.

Favorite case/type of case?

I think you'e asking me about my career in law. I dont practice courtroom law anymore. I am a policy wonk. I write laws. My focus is on international trade.

Back in the day I liked cases with relatively simple fact situations and clear issues that werent tangled up in ridiculous regulations. Something with a moral centre. Trusts cases were more interesting than securities cases for example. Things like criminal law never really interested me.

One of my favorite cases was when I helped a disturbed man with serious mental health issues to get his house back from his brother, who had essentially stolen it. I drove out to the house to deliver the lawsuit papers personally. The next day he got in his car and fled the jurisdiction. :D I also guided a woman through a wrongful dismissal suit in which she was very afraid. Her employer had decided to challenge her unemployment payments as a form of cheap simple discovery. I was just an articling student and none of the lawyers were paying attention to the case so she was kind of in the wilderness. I took the case under my wing and got her a good settlement very quickly. She sent me a thank you card with rave reviews and a bottle of wine. I still keep it as an heirloom.

Back in university a good debating case certainly made me happy. :)

Dripping Goofballs Question

1. What vegetable will you not eat unless there's a least $500 involved?

I like vegetables a lot. I dont need $500 to eat any of them

2. How many grandchildren do you have?

None, of course. :S Given my commitment-phobia, I may never have any. Which makes me kinda sad. :(

3. How sure are you that Quagmire is serving a sentence in a Juvenile Detention Center?

To commit a crime one must leave one's mother's basement.

4. Why do you call yourself cicero?

I think of Cicero as kind of the patron saint of rhetoriticians and people who love politics. I was heavily involved in debate and public speech for a very long time. And then politics. For more explanation go to my blog.

5. Why the avatar with the burly toes and wooden flip flops?

That's also explained in that blog link. It is a caricature of me. My ex-girlfriend drew it for me and I liked it so much I built my blog around it. I know it's silly but... silly's good I think. It's still one of the best gifts I've ever received.

6. Your opinion please. What TV show is the clearest sign of the decadence of society and why?

Ooh. Good question, Chantale. Maury Povitch. It provides a clear picture of what parts of our society are really becoming plus the willingness of other parts of our society to exploit people's pain for ratings. No one comes off looking good in that train wreck.

7. Do you despise people that drive gas-guzzling sports utility vehicles?

I'm a global warming skeptic and a canadian who lives through snow storms. I'm cool with the SUVs. I worry much more about peak oil issues. Though my man Julian Simon makes some good arguments in favor of technological innovation, substitution and price mechanisms, I'm still concerned that we are far too cavalier with that resource. We may have a serious reckoning coming very soon.

8. Give the name of every movie your remember watching 3 times at least, and that you wouldn't mind watching a fourth time (not counting The Sound of Music).

Pulp Fiction
American Beauty
Princess Bride
Life is Beautiful
Wrath of Khan
Empire Strikes Back
Kill Bill
Reservoir Dogs
Hard Candy
Shawshank Redemption

There's too many.

The Sound of Music makes my head hurt.

9. Are you intimidated by Adel?

Not at all. I havent really been "intimidated" by anyone in at least 10 years. If I was going to be it wouldnt be on a forum game website. If it was going to be someone on this website I dont think it would be her. She a cool chick though. I'm down with Adel. I respect her.

10. Hawaii or Alaska?

Hawaii of course. At Robin Masters house.

Who should we ban first: ryan, quag, or me?

(it's fine admit to ignorance in ryan's case- his offenses all concern terrible things in mafia games).

I dont know anything about Ryan. I cant imagine why either you or Quag should be banned. I havent had much exposure to you to be honest, Simenon, other than disagreeing with me in threads. Which I would hardly consider an offense at all let alone a bannable one.

As for Quagmire, he may be grumpy but I played a game with him in it (Mafia 63) and he was great within that context. I did vig-shoot him in the balls to end the game though, which might be another reason why he's been grumpy with me. ;-)

Danni Banani, if she's around, on the principle that the girl one's seem to run longer (small sample fallacy at play).

Otherwise Oman. It's kinda fun to watch him get angry and spew firey bile. Maybe Adel will ask him to do something painful and physically impossible again.

Sometimes I enjoy your words and sometimes I hate you so much I want to eat you face and then spit your teeth back into your body like bullets.

I think this is a likeable time.

Anyway on to questions:

Why do you need to mention the fact that you wear pants in your avatar?

Have you ever been to Australia?

Yes - What did you think?

No - Why not, and when are you coming?

What, in your opinion, is the most interesting time in the history of man?

How far would you go for the Internet pain olympics?

Do you think OJ Simpson killed his wife?

Whose movies are more painful to watch, Julia Roberts, Hugh Grant, or Keanu Reeves?

Do economists' dehuminizing outlooks on life scare you?

Are Maths and Sciences worthless for some people, or should everyone learn math beyond basic calculus, and Chemistry?
