Mechanics you wish were more popular

Just thought any mechanics you guys wish was in more games.

Personally, I would love to see other mods adopt Last Will mechanic to their games, because it encourages players to stay more active and involved, but I also like Plotinus "Note PM" for players to submit if they ever have to sub out.

Any specific game mechanics you guys like that you would love to be done in majority of games?

Ohh also "draft" games.

Ever since SirCakez Thing Mafia, I have become more interested in their potential.

IMO if used correctly last wills are townsided. If you use them refrain from using high power investigatives that could break the game if able to put their results in their will

SmallTown set-ups used to be run more often back in the day (2010 to 2011). I liked them back then and found SirCakez's game a nice reminder on why they seems to work so well.

They're difficult to balance, though, so you can't just say "gonna run one" unless you're basically copying someone else's setup with different flavor.

I have a soft spot for Semi-Opens though. The weirder, the better (although that may just be my preference as a "dirty themer").

I think Nightless games are really fun.

They offer challenges to both sides and there's no role/nightkill shenanigans at play.

I think it's the true test of how well scum blend in and how well town can scumhunt.

I like roles that give unconventional alignment results. Sensor is among these.

I originally thought "nightless" games was the most absurd and troll concept ever since no night shenanigans, but some nightless games i have played like legend of the hidden temple is by far some of the funnest games i have ever played.

Also, keeping the LETTER but not the SPIRIT of nightless games, Eternal Sun games are quite fun.

Plot's Get a Room has always been a lot of fun to use both as town and as scum.

If referring to my old series, I think this was a benefit, but also a bit of something that worked against the flow of the game. It wasn't unusual to have a situation later in a game where you essentially had three players with all of the votes and then what were more or less a couple of voteless players.

Maybe if/when I bring this back something can be built into the game to counter that (even if its just allow splitting of votes being passed on) but im not as sure if the process of a game almost becoming a kingmaker was a benefit or a drawback. I think it could differ depending on what players were asked the question.

Choose Your Side.
Stars Aligned.

I dream of running a good Nightless game.
Maybe some day it'll happen.

See, my thing is I would play Stars Aligned again but only for Percy.
I don't see anyone else doing it justice. Because that game was great but still needed work because of how easily the plan DESTROYED the Cultists it definitely needs work.
