self wagons don't apply any bit of pressure. its like sticking a gun to your own head...what's the point.Northjayhawk wrote:
When you vote for yourself and ask others to vote for you, we learn very little about you or the people voting for you, other than you are a strange goofball. Maybe we might learn about people voting for you if they go nuts and quickly put you at L-2 or something, but compared to simple random-voting to test other people's reactions, a self-bandwagon is completely useless and probably counterproductive for the town.Oman wrote:Umm, how is a self bandwagon any less good than one the vote-ee is not on?
Done correctly a random wagon can apply pressure. this would be akin to pointing an empty gun at someone else's head, so long as they don't know its not loaded!
I agree with ryan here. Oman's play makes no sense. He's usually a pretty reasonable and pro-town guy so the only sense i can make of his antics is if he's a jester cause he's definitely not playing like he usually plays townie roles.ryan wrote:
Are you intentionally trying to act like a jester?Oman wrote:NORTHJAYHAWK NEEDS A BANDWAGON, HE WANT ONE!
In any case I still think destructor is scum...anybody else see it too?

alright well:
unvote
Why exactly is Ryan at Lynch-3? from what i've seen this is a bandwagon by oman...the guy who randomed himself, voted himself, then asked for a role pm..
There isnt enough to lynch anybody yet.. we 've had 90 posts..with 12 players thats bout 7 posts per player and plus mod stuff..how can u possibly lynch someone when you've seen only 7 of their posts? its a very scummy move to put someone at lynch-3 on 7 posts, or incredibly dumb, to be jumping into a bandwagon started by the guy who asked for role pm so incredibly quickly..Armlx: What has he done to make you think he's scum.
Mizzy: Other than not scumhunt, not post much as of late other than jokes and lurk a bit?
Oman: This is known as "doing a thinktank".- Phate

After spending a full four minutes trying to decipher thinktank's post, here is my response.
thinktank, is English your native language? If so, please observe the following rules or I shall ignore your posts based on the negative risk:reward (migraine:uselessness) ratio.
Capitalise the first word of every sentence.
Use commas between clauses.
Use end punctuation at the end of every sentence.
Capitalise the word "I", as it refers to oneself.
Capitalise the names of your fellow players, unless they're sufficiently illiterate to have not capitalised their own name.
Use either a period or an ellipse; don't use their bastard child, "..".
On a related note, don't end EVERY FUCKING SENTENCE with "..".
If you choose to upgrade these to a full ellipse, consider some variety with end punctuation. One multi-paragraph sentence punctuated only with ellipses is irritating at best and illegible at worst.
"U" is not a valid substitute for "you."
Don't insult your fellow scummers' collective intelligence unless you're confident that you're more intelligent than they are. Then, do it in such a way that it showcases the intelligence gap, such as patronisingly giving them an impromptu crash course in the English launguage.I will fuck up your name and gender. Deal with it.

don't be condescending (what is it about you people from birmingham, al?). i've written articles that have appeared in the WSJ and i'm not bothered by thinktank's grammer...just his content --> L-3 is nowhere near scummy, though you should consider that ryan was a L-2. so you're way off not by the fact that you can't write properly but by the fact that you think a random L-3 (which is actually an L-2) is scummy.i am sofa king!

Hmm, I didn't actually unvote before I voted for ryan, so he never made it to L-2...Aimee wrote:Veggietastic Vote Count!

Crub -- 2 (Northjayhawk, Y)

destructor -- 1 (soupfly)
Not Voting -- Korran, ryan
Now searching for a replacement for Korran.
He's got 3 votes on him right now.
My vote's still on Northjayhawk.

Question: was it intended to not unvote before voting him so that your vote wouldnt be counted on purpose? to lure scum on the wagon without actually having your vote count?destructor wrote:

I'm back, anyone miss me? Well, just barely back anyway, driving at a 15mph bumper to bumper crawl in traffic during a blizzard is no fun, but thankfully I was able to somehow avoid all the idiots on the road.
I just dont know what to make of this. You've got to be joking, right?Oman wrote:Ryan...can you post your role pm?
soupfly also explained the point I was trying to make a bit better than I did, someone else will potentially feel more pressure from your bandwagon, but a bandwagon on yourself is useless because you know you wont pull the trigger. All you have to do is make sure you defuse the situation before too many others unholster their guns.
Anyway, I've been exclusively on Oman for a little too long, time to examine some other people.- Northjayhawk

*insert amazed reaction and suspicions at an early L-2 here, followed by backspacing it all out after realising this vote count is all screwed up*
I believe kravhen's on soupfly, and destructor's vote didnt count (rule #4), he's still on me. So, this isnt as interesting as it looks, except maybe we get to see reactions from people who initially believed the L-2 without checking first.
The only other thing I can think about is destructor intentionally casting a vote that didnt count to get people to think ryan had more votes than he actually did. That actually might be a clever strategy if you dont bring the wrath of the mod, but more likely just a simple mistake and he meant to cast his L-3 vote, then held off correcting the error after people freaked at the updated totals.- Oman

Bad logic! NO! NAUGHTY LOGIC! Go sit in the corner!kravhen wrote:holy shit too many people on ryan for it to be legit
Yup.NorthJayHawk wrote:You've got to be joking, right?
You guys are silly. Your analogy is incorrect.NorthJayHawk wrote:but a bandwagon on yourself is useless because you know you wont pull the trigger.
IF we stick with the gun analogy:
Self wagons are like pointing a gun at your headand then having 6 other guys grab the trigger too
Wagons on others are like pointing a gun at their headand then having 6 other guys grab the trigger too
No one person on a wagon controls whether or not it hammers (i.e. the guns shoots), as anyone who comes off can be replaced and anyone can hammer. Your analogy fits MAD mafia or Bad Idea more than regular Mafia.
UnvoteI believe that wagon to have served some sort of purpose for me. I shall join the Soupfly andVote Destructor
One of the main reasons Soupfly didn't point out is this:ryan wrote:The same question could be asked of why you're voting medestructor wrote:I think you're over-reacting to that
Which is interesting as I don't think it IS an over-reaction to question someone's L-2 vote.
My vote on ryan was for the reason I stated it was, a wagon, it got information (at least I think it did). It's unfortunate that good oral sex excuses bad chemistry. - Korts- destructor
