o.O Crazy... Only three pages... this is like a first for me.. so used to replacing into month long games...

After reading that I feel even more crazy for replacing into Poet's Anonymous! Don't even get me started...

Hi! My name is Korlash...

*mumbles* Hi korlash *mumbles*

... And I am a recovering Poetry junkie...

*Crowd awws*

[Breakdown and cry] T_T [/breakdown and cry]

I'm not the biggest fan of random votes so i wont bother... But I think a bazooka is an obvious scum tell weapon. I mean a rocket launcher seems more pro-town right?

So...

I originally bought it to give out to trick-or-treaters, but no one came by my door, so I kept it, knowing it would come in handy sometime...

Since this is a (partially) open set-up, I think we might be best off with a full claim. The scum will have no choice but to claim their actual roles (or get busted on a 1-for-1 basis), and we can ask for everyone to tell the town what they did the night before, forcing the Scum lie. Ideally, we can catch scum in lies in a few days...

mass claims on day 1 make for a very dull game. Where's the fun? I've also never seen a day 1 mass claim succeed.

Sorry...3rd post in a row. To the mass claim: the role and the alignment are separate from each other so for all we know there could be a scum detective. Mass claiming doesn't help us at all.

Real evidence? Theres no such thing in a game of mafia... Just speculation, "tells," and personal opinions.

Also I very much believe a mass claim is bad. Open game or not. Especially should the mafia have the role switcher... >.> <.< Coolest role I have ever heard of...

Also:
sensfan wrote:The scum will have no choice but to claim their actual roles
They could very much lie and claim unpowered. or even worse claim cop or doc and get them busted. All in all mass claims are generally a bad idea. In my experience though, it is more likely a towny brings it up then a scum.

So yeah... No to the massclaim...
Jex wrote:To the mass claim: the role and the alignment are separate from each other so for all we know there could be a scum detective. Mass claiming doesn't help us at all.
Could be a scum doc, or a scum mason, or a scum RB too... But yeah, your right the claim doesn't help us.

That would be kinda pointless wouldn't it? A scum cop... lolz...

If they told you I’m mad, then they lied.
I’m odd, but it isn’t compulsive.
I’m the triolet, bursting with pride;
If they told you I’m mad, then they lied.
No, it isn’t obsessive. Now hide
All the spoons or I might get convulsive.
If they told you I’m mad then they lied.
I’m odd, but it isn’t compulsive.

That, my friends, is a triolet. Now: on to more trivial matters.

Massclaim = bad.

Scum need not lie about anything. They could claim their real role and do townie things with their night action. More than likely (statistically speaking), at least one of the scum is unpowered, and they could be the one to send in the kill. If I were powerrole scum, I'd be perfectly happy with doing whatever the town wanted me to do w/my power and being a great townie all day, while picking off their power roles night by night.
I will fuck up your name and gender. Deal with it.

Well seeing as how we have no tracker there is no way to prove you didn't do what the town wanted you too anyways... Unless your the Sk in which case not killing is enough...

Then again the RB can catch people in a lie I suppose...

Just to keep things neat.

Welcome to the game and my vote stays till you post in limerick form. (I just couldn't help myself.)

Oh, and BOOOO on the mass claim idea. Just suggesting that nearly blew up my scumdar. Outing power roles on day one = bad.

As mentioned countless times before, this is a bad idea. Methinks this is a ploy for scum to pick off the power roles.

Based on his "Townsperson" status and the fact that he has committed at least one other newb mistake (in another game), I'm almost willing to let sensfan off the hook if he can at least give some more info on his thought process for suggesting mass claim.

And before anyone asks, I'm not moving my vote till I get that limerick, otherwise it would be on sensfan till he comes back and explains to my satisfaction.

Because of his "goon" status, I'm willing to let Zhao off the hook for suggesting that a newb suggesting a massclaim is scummy. Even though he's wrong.

And more importantly, I have not heard a single triolet from Thanatos.

Ben, can you quickly explain exactly what other "newb mistake" i have made elsewhere? I suggested it, because the scum would HAVE to lie. Day 3-5ish, we might be able to catch them in those lies.

Also, addressed to everyone, I may be new here, but I am far from being new to Mafia.

SensFan - no, they wouldn't. Mafia could be perfectly honest about their roles. Why would they have to lie?

And yes, based on what I've seen so far, I'd call this suggestion and insistence that Mafia must lie a newb mistake and hypothesise that if you have played before, it was on a low-quality site or in RL, and RL Mafia is very different from PbP Mafia.

Man what have I got myself into...

I feel better... Still Your totally overlooking the fact that an unpowered scum will claim "unpowered" and even if he/she does the kill we will have no way of knowing that.
