The Roles:

Norinel:

You are the TV show host.
(Designed by Thoth)

Each night you PM me with a target, and I give you a task. The next day, you try to succesfully complete it. If you succeed, you will receive the alignment of the target at nightfall. You are NOT allowed to mention the fact you have a task ask any time.

You win with the town.

MOD info:
Tasks:
30% chance: Get your target to quote player X.
25% chance: Get your target to use one of the following words, outside of a quote: {Banana, Spoon, Italy}, {Pregnancy, Asia, Bush}, {Microwave, Halberd, Tank}
20% chance: Get your target to vote for player X.
15% chance: Get your target to post less than 5 times.
10% chance: Get your target to make a double-post.

Fuldu:

You are the Night shop owner.
(Designed by Totem)

Your shop is always open. Many people who do business in the night use your services. Each morning you will receive list of people who bought something from your shop this night.

You win with the town.

MOD info:
2 randomly selected persons with a night choice.

Mike Amok:

You are the Drama Queen.
(Designed by Norinel)

Once in the game, you can fake your own lynch. If you want to do this, you need to cast the deciding vote yourself. Also, you PM me whatever role you want, and I will post it in the death scene. While everybody thinks you're dead, and you had the Pmed role, the next morning you'll wake up unharmed.

You win with the town.

Leonidas:

You are the crime-fighting duo.
(Designed by Bloojay)

You have to make a dummy account
Victoria
as soon as possible.

When you have made it, I will add it to the alive players-list, and it functions just as any other player in the game, meaning you can post or vote with both accounts, and they can both be lynched.

You have a cop and a vig ability, but you can only use one of them every night. Please PM me what ability you want to use, and your target.

You win with the town.

MOD info:
If one of the accounts dies, both abilities drop to 50% accuracy.

FrogGurl:

You are the Role Cop.
(Designed by Gaspode)

Each night, you PM me the name of one player, and I will tell you who wrote the role he plays.

You win with the town.

Totem:

You are the Time Traveler.
Designed by: FrogGurl

With your Time Machine, you can go back in time every night, and prevent a night kill, effectively raising a player from the dead. If you target a player who is still alive, you act as a regular doc, and you protect him from any harm that night. You can't protect yourself.

You win with the town.

Darkblade:

You are the Crack-addicted Hooker.
(Designed by Stewie)

Each night, you can go to bed with one player to get money for crack. In addition, this prevents the targetted player from doing anything else that night.

You can't target no-one for 2 consecutive nights, as you will run out of money for crack if you do that.

You win with the town.

Korais666
(replacing Bloojay)
:

You are the Oracle.
(Designed by Leonidas)

Each night, you PM me the names of 2 players. One of them will investigate the other, and will get a good/evil result. You aren't aware of the result yourself, and you can't select yourself as one of the two players.

You win with the town.

Dementia Blader:

You are the DNA-specialist.
(Designed by Mike Amok)

Each night, you can check the body of one person for DNA of the other players in the game. (You can only target dead players).

You win with the town.

MOD info:
80% chance to find DNA of people targetting body last night, 60% 2 nights ago, ………

Narninian
(replacing Ages)
:

You are the Frogman.
(Designed by BlueSin)

Twice in the game, you can change into a frog, which will protect you from one kill that night.

You win with the town.

MOD info:
If he dies as frog anyway, the killlers have to make frog sounds every post the next day.

willows_weep:

You are the Overachiever.
(Designed by Darkblade)

At the beginning of each night, I will tell you if you're a cop, doc, or vig for that night. Because you've learned all 3 of these jobs, you're stressed, and you only have a 50% succes rate for each of them.

You win with the town.

Thoth:

You are the Egocentric Talk Show Host.
(Designed by Dementia Blader)

You get one roleblock for every 10 posts you make. If you make a double-post, or one of less than 20 words, it won't count.

You win with the town.

Gaspode:

You are the Attention-Deficit Disorder Cop.
(Designed by Fuldu)

You are an excellent cop who will invariably return accurate results, provided you aren't distracted by other things. For every post you make on a given day, your degree of accuracy will fall by 5% (to a minimum of 50%) for the following night.

You win with the town.

God:

You are the Demoraliser (Mafia).
(Designed by Ages)

You form a standard mafia group with NanookTheWolf and Stewie, but you also have a special ability. If you don't do the night kill, you can demoralise someone. What the excact effect of this is, remains unknown to you.

You win when you and your mafia mates have a majority in this town.

MOD info:
Target needs half votes to be lynched next day.

Stewie:

You are the Mafia Framer.
(Designed by NanookTheWolf)

You form a standard mafia group with God and NanookTheWolf, but you also have a special ability. If you don't do the night kill, you can frame someone, which makes them look guilty to cop investigations that night.

You win when you and your mafia mates have a majority in this town.

NanookTheWolf:

You are the Mafia Spin Doctor.
(Designed by mneme)

You form a standard mafia group with God and Stewie, but you also have a special ability. If you don't make the night kill, you can PM me a role name, and the mafia kill of that night will not be an obvious mafia kill, and the role you submitted will be posted instead of the target's real role. Only if you die the original role is revealed to anyone.

You win when you and your mafia mates have a majority in this town.

BlueSin:

You are SABERKITTY, the serial killer.
(Designed by God)

Your task is to be the last one standing. Your mafia experience has made it easy for you to play the role of other people, and that's what you'll use in this game. Every night you can email me the name of a player, whose role you want to take over for the night. I will let you know his/her capabilities, which you can use to meet your target.
In addition, you have a killing option (ripping people apart by your claws) to choose instead of the role playing. Let me know when you want to use that and who's your target.

You win when you're the last man standing.

mneme:

You are Aximili, the serial killer.
(Designed by willows_weep)

You are an alien. You are from the Andalite home world. You are neither evil nor good. You are a loner Sk variation. Your role powers are these:
Every night you get to change into another player and harm someone else. You will harm by the blade on your tail. Even though you are in another morph this is how you will leave your mark/name on your kill.

You win when you're the last man standing.

MOD info:
Morphs leave DNA of morph on body, instead of that of mneme.

What happened behind the screens:

NIGHT 1

God (Demoraliser) tries to demoralise BlueSin (SABERKITTY). BlueSin doesn't like this, so he steals God's ability and targets God's scum mate Stewie with it........

Willows (Overachiever) has the bad luck she's a vig the first night, but it doesn't worry her, she tries to vig Fuldu (Night Shop Owner) without any information about his innocense. Luckily for the town she fails.

FrogGurl (Role Cop) checkes Stewie (Mafia Framer), and discovers his role is designed by Nanook.

Gaspode tries to investigate Norinel on his only night with 100% succes chance, but framer Stewie is lucky, and frames Norinel succesfully.

Totem (Time Traveler) has no-one to bring back from death yet, so protects Stewie (Mafia Framer) from night kills.

Bloojay selects the first and the last player from the list, Ages (Frogman) investigates willows_weep (Overachiever): Innocent.

Mneme (Aximili) succesfully becomes Victoria and kills Darkblade (Crack-addicted hooker), Nanook kills Thoth (Egocentric talk show host) on behalf of the mafia.

Leonidas and his dummy Victoria are lucky with their investigation, and find God guilty.

Norinel wants a task for mneme, and is ordered to get him to vote for Ages.

Fuldu finds two mafia members, Stewie and Nanook, to be busy at night.

DAY 1

Leonidas (Crime-fighting Duo) immediately comes out, and identifies God as scum. He's lynched for it. Mneme doesn't vote for ages, so Norinel doesn't get the 'evil'-result he would get otherwise.

NIGHT 2

Our DNA-specialist, Dementia Blader, tries to investigate his first body, but is killed by BlueSin (SABERKITTY) before he can get the results.

FrogGurl (Role Cop) checks Leonidas, his role is designed by Bloojay.

Gaspode investigates FrogGurl, she's as innocent as a baby.

Bloojay (Oracle) selects Fuldu and Nanook, a good guess, and random.org is friendly to him too: Fuldu investigates Nanook, GUILTY!

Mneme turns into Leonidas and kills a member of the Mafia, Stewie.

Totem revives our beloved hooker, Darkblade.

Willows, Leo and Vic investigate Mike Amok (Drama Queen), who's innocent. That's why the mafia members kill him, and his body is disguised as the 'serial killer'.

DAY 2

With again a guilty result to follow the last mafia member, Nanook, is lynched.

NIGHT 3

Mneme turns into Darkblade, and BlueSin steals the role of Leonidas, who happens to have a vig ability, and together they kill Fuldu (Night Shop Owner).

Norinel doesn't have his lucky day again, he targeted Fuldu too to discover his alignment.

Darkblade blocks Narninian (Frogman), who wasn't busy during the night anyway.

FrogGurl discovers willows' role is designed by Darkblade.

Gaspode gets the right result, on which he had 85% chance. Leo is innocent.

Totem decides a town without an artist is boring, so he revives Mike Amok.

Willows wants to know what's up with Leo, but she's on the wrong side of the 50% chance.

DAY 3

After much discussion if the town should lynch Leo (Part of the crime fighting duo) or Norinel (TV show host), Leo is lynched.

NIGHT 4

BlueSin kills willows_weep. Mneme thinks that's a good idea, copies BlueSin, and....... kills willows_weep!!! Talked about imitating.........

Willows_weep is a doc for this night, but Victoria is not attacked.

Norinel wants a task for Totem (Time Traveler). But the town doesn't trust him. Darkblade blocks him, FrogGurl wants to know who designed his role, and thanks to the Oracle Totem investigates him.

Gaspode fails to submit a choice again, but I'm in a generous mood and give him a random investigation. He probably thought Darkblade was innocent already, but that's not the point.

Totem wants to shop again and revives Fuldu.

DAY 4

Norinel is lynched based on the framed investigation from night 1.

NIGHT 5

BlueSin and mneme, our serial killers, target NOT the same person for a change. Unfortunately for them, though, they target each other!!!

(FrogGurl checks Gaspode, who investigates Victoria, who fails to vig Mike Amok. The Oracle, Korais666, selects FrogGurl and Narninian, and Totem The Time Traveller revives willows. These choices were all irrelevant.)

Town wins!!!

I must say the mafia had extremely bad luck, eliminated on day 2! As I got no usable doc roles, I balanced it with a LOT of cops. Except Leo all had a drawback of some kind, though. You could say the town was very favoured with this set-up, but without docs and normal cops, and with scum with special abiilties it *was* balanced, but with this kind of luck for the town..........

Things that were strange in my opinion:
  • Willows trying to vig night 1
  • The telepatic connection between the serial killers on night 3, 4 and 5.
  • The fact that no-one realised Victoria was a dummy. I asked for 18 players in the sign-up thread, I get 18, and suddenly 19 alive? She's not on the list in the queue forum, you know.......

I noticed that there was an extra player, but didn't think too much of it.
As I got no usable doc roles, I balanced it with a LOT of cops.
Well, Totem's role is essentially a doc role, (In terms of its ability to reduce kills) just one that always succeeds and clears its target.

Liked the game, despite the weird town luck. Who submitted what?

I had an ability to protect myself from night kills for 2 nights - but I never used it, sort of a self only doc role - I figured that I was pretty low on the radar and it could a nice advantage to have closer to the end.

We had some pretty good roles there (props to W_W for being the first person to ever use Animorphs for a game resource). I could've sworn I was the original creator of the Mafia Framer role, though... ;)

My one complaint was my role. Nice, creative idea and all, but no one likes a role that discourages posting.

Great game, everyone, and thanks for running it, FD!

Was a fun game.

The really difficult thing (and the reason I spend my time going after unknowns) was Totem as the time traveller -- his power was just amazing (ie, a superdoc who only could save dead, non scummy people). I think this was the only role that was too powerful -- as it was, I think all the remaining scum ignored all the cops in order to hunt for the Traveller...which was correct; there was no way we could ever win byt the numbers if we didn't find him (ok, we didn't know what the role was called, but that's besides the point).
I, at least, was hoping all his revived peopel woujld disappear once I got him; that would have been an interestingly balanced (more, anyway) role, as it was, I think the game was doomed before Bluesin and I targetted each other.
Did I say too much?

Oracle is nice and powerfull too.

In my spreadsheat I had Narninian and BlueSin

Animorphs is a huge series by K.A. Applegate.
Its about....53? Books long (Check on that)
The main story line anyway.
And then there are the andalite chronicles, hork bjor (sp) and the ellimist...and then others too!

They also put it on tv but I didn't have cable sooo...

But yeah it's awesome reading. I think I have 1-40something and a copy of the andalite chronicles and another one.
It's loosely about these kids who get the power to morph into any creature they absorb dna from(by touching). They get the power to morph from a dying Andalite.
Its pretty much Entire galaxies against Yeerk power.
The Yeerks took/take control over other species by sliding into their ears and taking control of their brains. They feed on kadrona rays(sp), so they will die of kadrona starvation after a bit of time.
It started out with Tobias, Rachel, Cassie, Marcos, omg...uhm Rachels cousin...and Cassies sort of boyfriend (can't believe I forgot his name..)
Oh! JAKE!!
Ok, but in the ending of the series they added more animorphs.

Uhm...it's good stuff.
The character I designed is based on an Andalite in the book named Ax(Aximili).
He eventually joins with the animorp. Turns out his father was the one who gave the earth kids the morphing power.
BTW They got the power by touching this cool blue cube.
They added more animorphs by putting the cube together (cassie).
lalalal...going now.
What is the point of using foul language, downright rudeness, slurs, etc on a gaming site? This is really distasteful.

I agree with mneme, I think all the scums are trying to kill the reviver. and both of us try to target the remaining players that still not claim and not revived. so that's the result. coincidence. I think i can win by stealing mneme ability to kill the remaining players. or let mneme kill himself.

then, steal the reviver ability to revive scums. then we kill the town one by one. muahahaha.....  God, that's is a good role. I only create a normal town with night protection. that is the most normal role out there but it helps balance the game.

reviver are too powerful.

@willows_weep: whoa! talk about information overflow. even more confused :)

I am thinking that reviver should have some 'danger factor' build in. for example for every revived target his succes rate drops 20% or maybe 10% chance of creating paradox and dissapearing forever

Reviver is a very powerful ability, and needs some sort of check on it.

I think DP had a good one in Discworld Mafia: Each night, the Igors could take three bodies and revive one of them. The other two would be lost forever. Also, though the Igors didn't know, resurrections only lasted a few nights.

It has a check on speed (if the rate of kills drops, so does the rate of reviving), and there were a lot of scum in that game.

"You are SABERKITTY, the serial killer.

This is not the only non-original role I implemented. The framer is another example, and there are probably even more of them used before. 'submitted by' is maybe a better wording than 'designed by', but if people can't think of something themself I have no problems with this.

The role of Mafia Framer goes back to Des1 (I submitted the role as Mafia Spin Doctor, someone who could make people appear innocent or guilty, but didn't know who his fellow scum were; jadesmar submitted the role of Mafia Accountant, who made scum look innocent.)

Also, I had a role very much like the oracle in MRFH!!!, even called oracle. (The only difference was that my oracle chose which was investigated and which received the investigation.) And I had mostly takes that role from the illiterate priest in Des1.
