well really what's the point of trying to build items for survivability when your team's job is to keep you safe above all else? If you really need armor/survivability you could just sacrifice some attack speed and get ninja tabi instead of greaves, and build damage items that give you effective health, like bloodthirster or black cleaver. If you really truly want that armor and you don't want GA for some reason, I'd probably go with randuin's. But imo it's a waste of item space to build armor if you can just build life steal or something.

QSS and GA are bought for survivability, but that's because of their abilities, not their resistances.

Blood thirster was a serious answer. The defenses on tank items really arent worth on adcs because of the low base health adcs have.

Why do you need to get armor? If it's because a fed LeBlanc is jumping on you then get banshees or GA, if their thresh is a madlife smurf who constantly hooks you to your death then get mercurials if its something like an ad assassin vi then get zhonya

Okay, first of all, you should probably not pick an immobile carry early in draft, jinx can manage if your team is ahead and you can get the reset at the beginning of the fight from a distance with your rocket. Ashe it is possible to outplay divers with your ult but this requires good reaction timing as well as good mechanics.
Sometimes caitlyn / ezreal are just the champs you need to pick though unfortunately.
It is the thing that sucks about adc and is why it is for masochists but lel
Overall I would probably just recommend moving to being a midlane main tbh

I still can't imagine that ever being worth it unless you're building AP Ez. Ezreal is super mobile and long range, so is one of the adcs that can use zhonya's active least (most of the time it's just likely to let the enemy close the gap on him).

yea you shouldn't need zhonya's on ezreal anyway.

Zhonya is a hilarious option into zed if your GA is down and you wanna buy a different item though! just make sure your team can kill him.

I mostly build zhonyas super situationally if I'm getting focused and the comp is built in such a way that reviving with GA just gets me murderized again immediately. Usually on short range adcs with no reliable escape like ashe or vayne

Zhonyas makes it less likely you get murderized after zhonyas than after GA. GA gives you a longer period of invulnerability.

And in the case of an adc with no escapes, you're left in the same awkward position of "everything is standing on top of my body waiting to kill me"

There is no actual viable argument for zhonya's hourglass being a better item than guardian angel on any ADC.

Unless we're talking about hilarity. In which case zhonya's is vastly more hilarious.

Tbh at low ELOs dont bother getting defence. Maybe pick up a GA. Your team won't peel for you and you will get hard focused, so stay really far back and wait for perfect fights where they are distracted and you can go ham.

I would argue that zhonyas is decent on Corki, depending on build. The ap is great on him, and 85% of his damage is already magic. As a last item after your adc stuff it works.
