This player has been on the site briefly but has shown extremely impressive mafia skills over the course of being here. Specifically in GuyInFreezer's NY 198 where he solved the game in under 50 pages, and was 90% of the reason all 3 scum got lynched back to back to back due to amazing night action usage and scumhunting.
Transcend, a relatively new player, put on an incredibly convincing and also quite manipulative act the whole game. There was convincing fake frustration, fake paranoia, and even fake trolling! On the last day, he manipulated the town into quickly making a mislynch and then jailkeeping him, but he had his 1 strongman shot left to finish the game. His acting alone goes beyond good scum play and verges into the territory of "are you sure the mod didn't mess up your role pm?"
I agree with this. Before that game I thought trolling was a towntell. When he claimed scum at the end post hammer I thought it was still trolling...
Some townies are more inclined to troll, and some people would be super careful about doing that sort of thing as scum. Transcend is not one of those people.

BATMAN: Only jugg was the only one we didn’t scum read at least not me
Quick: There is little to no chance this slot is Power-Wolfing.
SR: I want to give him a day
Life is simply unfair, don't you think?

I decided to post "haha just don't post that in the main thread", but to get up to date on the main thread first.

Nomed team Bulbafenix, Blawb, and Pine for Most Cunning Manipulator for Hunger Games II
Really showed how a coordinate scum team can just dominate a town.
As a victim of those people, I endorse this product.
"The debate on whether short multi postings or a long wall of post is good or not is like a debate on gun control--we would never understand each other and we have to make peace with it." -Realeo
As a personal note to the Judges, there are two things I think stood out the most about it.
1) Blawb(me), BulbaFenix, and Pine all had more posts in the scum chat then we did in game
2) I think the highlight of our teamwork would have to be the lynch of the player FrootLoop in a My/Lo. We planned that lynch for days and a huge amount of teamwork and cunning by Bulba really fooled the entire town.
I know as the one being nommed I shouldn't say anything but literally my first game on this site and Pine and BulbaFenix made me enjoy a good month and half of my time and I couldn't have been happier and prouder of us than any game I'll probably play for a long time.
If there is also a nom for being a great teacher/mentor then I'd nom Pine or Bulba

Someone should remind me to nominate Paint *cough Cheetory6 cough* for new mechanic or whatever that award is...
, and the definition for the award is changing. The change for this award was two-fold. Number one, we saw a dearth of nominees and competition in the Best IC category and realized it was mostly the same one or two players being nominated every year. We didn't want the award to get stale, as we felt putting in time to help people learn to play the game was valuable and should be rewarded. But... number two, Professor Mafia was already a role that, in essence, rewarded people for contributing to the mafia community by helping people learn or understand the game better! With Professor Mafia being a Body of Work award anyway, we think allowing contributions as an IC in a newbie game to be considered in the judging process will allow for a wider array of nominees and keep the judging for the category away from being a contest of "Whose one-off theory thread was bigger this year?"
In addition
, we are stripping the following from the "Professor Mafia" award:
Best Contribution to Mafia Discussion/The wiki
-> Best Teacher & Contributor to Mafia Discussion
Contribution to the wiki will no longer be considered for the award
Judges will focus on body of work more than a single individual thread or post
