Defensiveness = Scumtell
Defend
ing
=/= Scumtell
Defensiveness =/= Defending

I'm not an expert on the actual differences between the two though, so you'll have to ask someone else!

True, but the guilty are usually more defensive than others.

Anything else to add?

Defensiveness =/= Scumtell

Over
defensiveness = Scumtell

Defending yourself obviously isn't a scumtell, otherwise any Mafia game would just go like this:

Player 1: You're scum because <so and so>
Player 2: No I'm not beacause <so and so>
Player 1: Well now I'm more sure you're scum because you're getting defensive.

Obviously, this wouldn't work.

When a player starts getting overdefensive, like snapping, all-caps and getting really defensive for not much of a reason, that's a scumtell.

Well actually if you want to read up on overdefensiveness read some of ZONEACE's posts. He swears and rants and uses caps all over the places. OMGUS's and other things.

I think this whole defensiveness vs overdefensiveness thing is stupid. Where is the clearcut line that says this is defensiveness but this is too far? There is none. You have to move it about depending on who you're playing with.

My thoughts? Jordan was too defensive.

Tone thing is pretty big, but I'm more concerned about the way they both have tried to move suspicion back onto LML (although shteven not as much as Jordan). I don't understand how anything LML has done so far is anti-town.
I never sad anything about LML being scummy for starting so quickly. I said he was likely incorrect, and that it was a null tell (ie, does not reveal anything about his alignment). If you're going to paraphrase me, please be careful to get it right!

As far as being overdefensive, I'll go on the record right now as a very defensive player. If someone says something about me, I believe it merits a response. The above line by Aimee was incorrect, and I'm fixing it. I don't expect anyone to read a 100+ page and still growing game, but if you want to see my play style, I was just lynched in mafia 64 and was a (now) proven townie who defended himself constantly. Right from day one I got into extensive arguments with Glork.

Fortunately for those who don't want to read 100+ pages, White, LML, and manaspryte were all in that game so just ask them.

But don't worry, I'm not a big fan of CAPITAL LETTERS.

White's posts are shorter in this game. I'm thinking he's a townie.

Anyway, Oman's first post doesn't really help him any. All that concrete info in the first legit-game post is not exactly innocent-townie-ish behavior.

Well i have a random vote on Oman but i'm going to keep it. That was shameless bandwagoning (Though you have stated you always bandwagon) and of course you piled on a vote to (Shock,Horror) the guy with the most votes of course! At least try to provide a plausible reason when you vote someone.

I guess here's my first seemy serious post. Now with content!

I am gonna way in on the 2 major bandwagons we seem to be arranging. It seems to me one of the two was either started or stoked in order to protect a mafia who had come under scrutiny. Looking at the early game I was struck by how quickly Jordan got voted for after he called out Oman. LML, Tyler, Aimme, and White are possible. I am not saying any any of these guys are scummy. Indeed Tyler has been downright funny and the other two seem town. LML is the only one I think has given out any of these so-called scum tells. All things created equal I'd like to believe none of the three are mafia, What I am saying is Oman has not acted particuarly townie in his posts (I'd contend he's prickling my Scum-O-Meter). I think Jordan is getting railroaded. Oman then decided to pile on the Jordan vote, which was started by LML. Wouldn't it make sense LML tried to preempt a more serious vote on Oman, who has now come full circle to try to get it finished? That's my opinion.

On another note, SSF has gone ahead and offered a defense of two other players. Not scummy, but certainly interesting that we have 3 remaining mafia. Defensiveness of Jordan+Oman not really being scummy. Really crappy evidence (I think I am reading to much into it), I just think I should point that out. It's enough to make me keep my vote on SSF for a little while.

I'm going to throw my lot in with Skitzer and
Vote: Omen
With the additional reason that jumping on the bandwagon was too soon, and especially since he tried to downplay it. If you're going to join a wagon, own up to it.

Jordan's wagon I'm not quite buying, plus it's already at 5, which is rather high. The confidence you need to join a wagon already past halfway is a bit too steep for at this point.

One thing to note is Oman still has a "random" vote on him from before he became a wagon. AlyG needs to confirm if he's really in on the wagon or wants to unvote.

This would put Oman at 4 currently, 3 if you don't count AlyG. Jordan should still be at 5.

MOD NOTE: The vote will count despite a mispelling.

My mistake then alyg, missed that. As far as Jordan "should be" it's merely meant that he's at 5 if I haven't made any mistakes, which I didn't. Perhaps it's a bit over cautious to phrase it that way, but it wasn't meant to imply he deserved to be at 5 (or that he didn't deserve to be at 5).

think you read the quote wrong. the FoS would be a vote in this game,

I havent seen him do it so often. Since he acts this way in everygame, I can not see voting him quite yet, thus just the FoS.
