Radio Scum- Go Go WLOL!

This is to see if we need a thread for the proposition of a scumchat radio station (Codenamed by IH 'Scum Radio')

This is also for partly humorous reasons.

Sorry if it's not.

UPDATE-9-29-07-

For those of you just checking into this thread, we've decided to start up a radio station and are currently looking into servers. It looks more and more like Scum Radio/Rado scum/Radio name is going to become a reality.

I'm kind of unsure on how many listeners we'll have, and finalizing some things. We're going to try and keep it running twenty four seven when it gets up, and having listeners always help!

UPDATE 10/9/07-

I'm getting the server sometime in the next week or so. I think I've decided on a plan. 50 listeners at 64K (Which will only set me back 14 dollars a month, thanks to Jathan and the sweet hookups)

So this week after my paypal payment goes through, we'll have a server and possibly be able to broadcast! Until we get a schedule hammered out we may just popcorn it around. Quag and Rosso have said they can cover saturdays all day just about if need be so woo!

Well three weeks later, the server has changed from yellow to white, which means it's active. I'll get the details soon by Email.

In winamp or whatever, play a url, and play THAT url. DJing info will be heading out to DJ's and such. We're still playing around with the software to get it to do what we want, but we're broadcasting, woo!

I would. Don't have a microphone though, but I will become an actual DJ at a local radio station next semester, so I'll have the solid training.

We need to have a general structure; for example, on Tuesday nights, IH needs to broadcast in the afternoons until about 5, then peg needs to fill in until about 7, then I'll swoop in when I get back from whatever-I'd-be-doing and take over until about 10.

However, we don't need to be a strict radio station and have shifts. Only when we actually broadcast will we do something like that.

First we need to get a list of volunteers and available times for broadcasting. Then IH you need to set it up because I have no idea how to go about this.

I'm still looking into it, and making sure we won't get our balls sued off if we broadcast music, and at most like a warning that we don't need to do this.

I haev experience running shoutcasts (ran one for about a year till the guy paying for it got poor, and Im a cheapass.) I approve of Scum Radio (RadioScum maybe?) and can be a DJ of the "Asshat Hour".
