I'm not going to lie to you, I didn't like them very much either, but I've explained my reasoning. I've been in a number of games where 2 days of inactivity has led to a deadline, and I wanted to give conversation a little nudge.

Both the previous votes on Mert were weird in that they seemed to both be disclaiming the vote (schismatized said he was more suspicious of xyzzy, SSF gave some crap about not being deadlined.)

I wouldn't mind a votecount and some prods right now.

SSF, why bring up a deadline or the possibility of one if it was not for the purpose of putting us in "we might get deadlined" mode. You could have merely pointed out that you were worried about it being a possibility or tried to generate discussion by asking questions / taking action.

The thing is, the fact that you both attempted to put everyone in deadline mode

and

tried to start a wagon that was, by your own admission, completely baseless says to me that you'd subtly convince everyone to get into bandwagon mode, increasing the possibility of a quicklynch.

@Patrick: To clarify, I was more suspicious of xyzzy when i voted for mert, but i didnt and still dont think we have had enough discussion to end the day. Given that, i just voted for the next scummy person in my mind.

@dylan41985: why did you vote xyzzy out of nowhere? that post just perplexed me. there was no previous talk about him for a few posts so where did that come from?

Two observations:

1) The mod hasn't posted in this thread since July 8. I third the request for a vote count.

2) I'm a little disturbed by Ms Piggy's voting patterns. So far she(?) has voted for: somestrangeflea, Shanba, somestrangeflea, Shanba, xyzzy, somestrangeflea, xyzzy and now schismatized. That's 8 votes in just 16 posts. And there is never a concrete reason for any of them. Very strange.

That is not strange. If you notice, I was not trying to get any of them lynched for real. If you think I meant to lynch one of them by bandwagoning, you're highly mistaken. There is a difference between voting to try to lynch, and otherwise for pressure and to see the reactions out of people.

I didn't realize that somestrangeflea was already at five votes. Still, I don't know if it's necessary to unvote, as I still think he's suspicious and he's still two votes away from lynch.

I think xyzzy could probably use a prod. He hasn't posted since July 11. Honary Hitchhiker is also borderline... no posts since July 13.

Wow. just wow. Maybe try to be a little more subtle with the OMGUS next time eh? Hinting they are scum because we have noticed that you play like scum/suck at mafia in general? I like how you try to associate with the scummiest person ATM.

FYI: one vote is not a whole lot of pressure. You usually apply pressure with a wagon to somebody that looks scummy IMO. Your vote happy strategy really annoys/alarms me.
