Not always. A lot of times, crap comes down the pipe and someone gets lynched based on "flimsy excuses," lies, contradictions or other such things.

The first round of VOTES are random but the first LYNCH is rarely random.

Lateralus wrote:Flimsy excuse? its the first round usually the first lynch as a random vote is it not?
Yeah, I agree with DeliciousGoldfish. The first vote is random, a lot of times, but the first lynch isn't. That's not to say that the first lynch is usually correct, but at least there's some justification behind it.

Still, Lateralus did remove his vote eventually. Honorary Hitchhiker still has his vote on somestrangeflea still up.

Lateralus... His third vote came with the words "out of randomness." Like he had to say that? Like he had to try to remind everyone that it was random? Lateralus removed his vote with "I like yogurt." Um... Okay?

HH didn't remove his vote. He bandwagoned on my random vote (which I reasoned with I don't like fleas) with a reason for voting for SSF, something about him jumping the gun? It was a vote with dice, a random vote. I got voted for because they don't think fish should be in mafia. Those are random reasons. Giving an actual reason or saying "it's random" seems... Odd to me.

Not sure which one is scummier... I'll vote when there's more reason to vote rather than beginning-game mistakes...

I like your point about the explination of the random vote by saying it was random. It really doesn't make much sense. But I don't think that is enough to FoS them.

Wait, what??? Lateralus, SSF unvoted you. They gave up pressuring you into defending your 3rd vote. So then you place another vote?

C'mon Lateralus, write more than 4 sentences and explain thy self.

AmeliaLi: How is that not enough to FOS them? It's just simply that. I am pointing my finger at them for scummy moves. I haven't voted either of them... One sentence you agree with the fact that what they've done is quite odd and the next you've disagreed that they should be pointed at? Maybe just an OMGUS for each?

this is ridiculous.... no rush at all here i just want to see how we can get through a day without random votes and stupid ones... I have yet to see a reasonable post that I can build a disscusion on and that third vote thing is pretty lame just cause i voted third on one person automatically makes me suspicous?

It's in our best interest to choose carefully. It's in the mafia's best interest to lynch someone as quickly as possible while giving away as little information as possible. When you send someone 2 votes away for no reason it looks as if you are trying to rush the voting. It also put's that person in range of a quick lynch by the scum. Having said that I don't think this is something you did intentionally.

Also at this early stage as has been pointed out there isn't much to debate. That's why even a small scummy action can get you on the wrong side of the town. Now if only HH would show up and engage in some dialog maybe we could get a better idea of what was behind his actions.

Lateralus, your votes have given us something to discuss. And if you wanted to get through the day without stupid and random votes, then what were your votes? Were they stupid and random or intentional? And yes, your "random" votes being the third vote on someone is suspicious. Why not randomly vote someone without a vote? That is the essence of a random vote, vote someone not being targeted to get them involved.

well i tried my best on to prove my innocense but nothing is getting through to you guys so i have nothing to say really

unvote: SSF

I suspected SSF because he began a bandwagon on me then he took it off and i kept the vote on him and then you guys started to suspect me cause i had not known he had removed his vote on me and then people thought it was odd that i had the 3rd vote on one person which for some reason gave me the FOS from everyone thought i did say it was random because i did not have anyother reason. and the only thing i can talk about is proving myself innocent which i am.... and the only thing i can speculate was SSF attempt at a bandwagon towards me but soon he removed it. and now just cause of a random vote im automattically scum thats just not right.

Just because your behavior is suspicious does not mean we're going to lynch you or think you're scum. I think you gave a fairly good explanation of your reasoning. As many people have said, in the first few pages, we don't have a whole lot to go on, so any minor behavior will be seen as suspicious.

You can still change people's minds at this point. Getting defensive is not the way to do it. Just calmly explain what you you were thinking and hope people buy it. Pro-town players don't want to lynch a townie.

So just take a deep breath, relax, and slow down. This game could go months. And remember, it is just a game.
