Deadline in less than 20 hours. I may not be able to check at deadline, so feel free to keep discussing, but any votes after 20:00 EST will not be counted.

2 to lynch at deadline, first to reach 2 (or 3) votes gets lynched.

Official Vote Count #17

Crub[2](Stewie, Mert)

Mert[2](LoudmouthLee, mneme)
mneme[1](somestrangeflea)

Not Voting[1] (Crub)

With 6 alive, it will take 4 to lynch!

This is the last time I'll get to post before deadline so I'm going to
vote:Mert
mostly just to save my own skin.

Basically I'm between a rock and a hard place. If I don't vote I'll more than likely be lynched which is our one and only mis-lynch. However if Mert is lynched as town I'm leaving town in a bad position when it comes to endgame.

Crub, do you
actually
suspect me of being scum or are you really just voting to save your own back? Because I am distinctly of the opinion that attempting to merely ensure your own survival rather than playing to lynch those you find scummiest is not a protown move.
Confirm Vote: Crub

Honestly, I'm currently not buying the Mert wagon. LML said that there's more on Mert, but I don't really think that he's scum now.

Whilst I normally detest votes to save themselves, since it's close to deadline I can see Crub's POV here, and his post isn't as scummy as Mert seems to be making out.

Also, am I the only person who is slightly perturbed by the fact that both votes on Crub (judging by the vote posts themselves) were made because of the drop in activity?

53 minutes to deadline. I won't be here when deadline hits, but it will hit.

Is anyone even here? Whether you vote for me or not, please weigh in with your opinions so that we have information we can use tomorrow.

Yeah, deadline passed three minutes ago though, so uh... you're dead, I'm afraid.

With 6 alive, it took 2 to lynch at deadline -- Mert was lynched!

...

Today, you were searching for the remaining member of the
Ice Mafia
.

You gather around the
Pit of Eternal Darkness
and begin to discuss things.

The sun rises.
The sun begins to set.
Time goes on.
You all seem really bored and don't say much.

"So, what is up with this pit anyways?" one of you finally ventures.
"Yeah, it seems really cliche," another replies.
"Oh well, I don't want to die, so we might as well push Mert in," says Crub.

And so you do.

Mert barely falls into the pit at all, and then he freezes up -- not only does he freeze, he freezes close the pit -- it is something more like a well now. Free water :D!

Oh, and he was scum.
Mert
,
Ice Mafia
, lynched.

Your town managed to survive the scum threat. You lynched scum 4 consecutive days in a row.

With gleeful joy, you all drink a cup of water from the well. And all is well.

;)

Thanks all for playing. I had a blast moding!

Some things I learned:
  • Deadlines help town.
  • Shorter games are more fun.
  • Good players/towns tend to lynch scum, even when they are initially wrong.
  • New players, not set in their ways, like Crub, can read rules and
    UNVOTE
    . :).
  • This setup is balanced something like 20%/40%/40% for town/mafia/mafia. This town played perfectly to win -- and they had to.
It was a pleasure having you all in the game.
One thing I ask
-- if there is any moding thing that could have been better/that I could improve, let me know -- I aim to please ;).

Props to the whole town, very well done. Specifically, off the top of my head, I remember LML and mneme really nailing this one, with MrBuddyLee well on his way before he died.

Ice mafia, you got a bit unlucky, you gave it a good go. Fire Mafia, I hope you got something out of it.

---
I think the night choices were obvious, except for this one tidbit:
Glork actually protected AutumnEvenings night one.
Vendagoat targeted her for kill, and she was doubly protected :).

Glork protected mneme night two, I think.

Mafia, especially Ice mafia, are free to post their discussions/PMs they sent to me. The Ice Mafia's PMs were awesome.

YogurtBandit kind of flaked, but his initial VCs were great so thanks to him. Again, thanks to everyone I already mentioned in the Opening Posts, thanks again for playing all, hope you enjoyed, and see you around :).

Fantastic game. Loved it.

I'm going to have to tune up my scumhunting though! =D

Thanks Guardian!

Great fun, great game and great job modding. Seriously enjoyed myself.

Vendagoat put me in a very tough spot after he claimed AE to be his target. That paired with the sheet awesomeness of the town made it a very tough game to win, but the town played absolutely superbly. Sincere congratulations on a well-deserved win.

Awesome game, everyone, very well played by the town.

Both mafias had it somewhat rough, with Fire getting screwed by the deadline, and Ice getting screwed by Fire (although to be honest, AE was the prime suspect even without the Vendagoat revealing her as his target), but that doesn't diminish the town's accomplishment.

As for modding/set-up:
I already told Guardian privately that static deadlines in my opinion shouldn't be used in games run through the Open queue, but overall, they weren't a big detriment to my enjoyment. I liked the set-up (even-though it's somewhat imbalanced towards scum), and I
really
enjoyed the deathscenes. Mad props to Guardian. :)

She was an obvious kill choice, and I hadn't yet decided whether she was scum. *shrug*

MBL is delusional if he thinks I'd protect him. :P

LmL, Day 2 wrote:Finally, FoS: AutumnEvenings. She seems to have garnered much attention today. It fits into Glork's elephant puzzle that one of the scum is trying to get us to lynch AE. She may be Ice Mafia and was targeted last night. This also fits the fact that from what I have seen, AE is a fairly typical N1 kill. She's eloquent and dangerous. With the opening FoS's levvied on her, I believe that she could be ice mafia and the one of her earlier FoSers could be Fire Mafia. Just musing out loud here, but it's been noted in my handy-dandy notebook.

LOL good job town.

Someone mentioned me maybe giving up scum partners or attempting to ruin a perfectly good game. Nope never crossed my mind. One of the reasons I hammered myself is specifically so that you guys wouldn't know for sure what i did. I've read that post in the general discussion about scum people giving up their partners and ruining games. No thanks no ban for me.

In my opinion, what you did was perfectly within the rules. It's an integral part of the set-up that Fire and Ice can find out each other's identity, and use or expose that information in order to get each other lynched.

by somestrangeflea
But you never gave up your partner, you outed the other scum, which was technically your aim anyway!

But your ultimate objective is
always
your win condition. By self-hammering when you were the last Fire around, you took deliberate action that made it impossible to fulfil your win condition. If you had self-hammered and outed AE but your partner was still alive I would have hailed it as an incredible scum move. But since you did it when in the process of making yourself lose on purpose there was nothing your faction could gain from it, which makes it basically asshattery.

Now it's not going to get you banned, but you should
always
try to achieve your win condition as that's fundamentally what drives this game in the first place. The only explanation I can find for what you did was that you were mad at AE for going after you throughout the day and so you decided to take her down with you, despite throwing the game for both you and your partner in the process.

Dude, sorry i took your partner out. Relax, it's a game.
