I'm just using your suggestion. Let's start with you.
unvote, vote: DYH
I always find this kind of thing mildly scummy. It's the sort of thing that can fairly easily lead to a not-insignificant bandwagon on an innocent. Not damning evidence, but it'll do for now.

Mos, if you can't remember who you're voting for, how about voting DYH with me?
Oh don't get me wrong, I have no intention of seeing this bandwagon through; just testing the waters.

For today,
I'd honestly prefer to ultimately lynch a lurker
. The main reason you don't do it in traditional games is that they could have a power role. There are no town power roles, only insight. So if you're not going to post, you're not using your power.

"What!?" You ask, "are you crazy? You just told the SKs to post more!"

Exactly. Now they feel compelled to contribute, and they'll be plenty to glean from that later.

Unvote
Sorry but I can't disagree more with that statement. I'd rather see a lurker prodded and than replaced if necessary but lynching just to lynch is never a smart move

*preemptive strike before getting prodded*

Yes yes i'm here... I disagree with DYH's lynch the lurker premise, but not with the vote to get info.

Our conversation is our most important asset, so CDB's voting DYH for doing something that could lead to a bandwagon and at the same time trying to recruit MoS to follow with his vote jumps out at me.

Funny ryan seems to say that. I have been in a game with him where he basically went 100% after lurkers!

I went after lurkers for "content" or to be prodded. Are you telling me eliminating people just for not posting is a good idea?

What up the mini bandwagon that is currently starting on Givlmrak right now, bad or warranted?

I think it is random. A random bandwagon will fall on
someone
, at least in the beginning. Besides, when you need 10 votes to lynch someone, 4 votes doesn't seem too threatening. So, as of now, it is neither bad, nor warranted.

Actually, I think DYH is spot-on here.

Think about it - we only have vanillas and SKs here. In either case, someone _needs_ to be lynched each day for likely the entire length of the game. We need to use what advantages we can to route out the SKs.

Realistically speaking, since there are no power roles to accidentally kill, by lynching lurkers as long as there's no one of suspicion simply: (a) discourages the SKs from lurking, thereby opening opportunity for them to make a mistake, (b) narrows the field should a townie be lynched.

Discussion and content narrows a field not just random lynches. I agree that lurkers need to be kicked in the butt, but I don't feel comfortable lynching somebody just because they haven't posted.

Let's lynch the lurkers. I'll explain later (as in today).

Who's lurking, so I can vote them?

Can't find a flaw in the theory, getting SK's to trip up will be alot harder than getting mafia to trip up as they aren't about to protect each other, heck they don't even know each other. We are in a really odd position here on day 1.

Of the options we have: lynching people that are posting and contributing versus lynching people that are just lurking, I'd have too chose option 2, because at least then we have info to go off of later in the game when we can start looking back.

err wtf? how the hell does lynching lurkers gain us info. Case in point, the bandwagon just starting on Blahgo. I agree that lynching lurkers is probably good for today at least, but merely because they arent contributing, and arent a big loss.
But as you can see here, if the town agrees to lynch lurkers, we dont gain ANY info on anybody. There is no Mafia here, so reading bandwagons can only tell us so much. The fact is, if a lurker comes up town, what do we learn? Nothing.
If a lurker comes up scum, what do we learn? Nothing really, as we only have SK's.
The best way to gain INFORMATION would be to play as normal, and lynch whoever you think is behaving scummy. That way, you dont just get a meaningless bandwagon, but actually some discussion.
in fact, whilst i have no qualm about killing a lurker today, i really dislike that comment by Qman, so
