Mini 448: Judgement Day Mafia-Game Over!

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Fri May 18, 2007 6:18 am

Post by Battle Mage »

Whether you believed in religion or not, the 18th of May was bloody scary!
Religious fanatics and atheists alike deemed it JUDGEMENT DAY. Newspapers reported that it was time for people of all walks of life to "find their faith".
However, in the midst of all the carnage, this was not as easy as you might think.

And so, as the greatest test for Mankind ensues, the 10 of you have been brought here to make your choice. Some of you have already chosen the path towards Heaven, and it will be your duty to bring others to do the same. Some amongst your midst however, have been befriended by EVIL, and will attempt to lure you towards the same fate. Those of you have undecided only have a short while to make your choice. Your intentions may be good, but you need a heart of gold to defeat this great evil, else you will be consumed by it.

Rules

1.) This game is a day start. The game will start when everyone has confirmed via PM.
2.) During the day you can vote for a player that you think should be lynched. Votes must be in the form Vote: Player otherwise they won't be counted. Players must also unvote when switching their votes. All votes and unvotes must be in bold.
3.) When a player reaches a majority of votes, they are lynched. I will reveal their role, and the game will move into night. No discussion takes place during the night, except amongst roles who have been given specific permission to do so.
4.) If discussion is lagging or the day is dragging, I may set a deadline. If a majority is not reached by the deadline, No lynch will occur.
5.) No talking to other players, dead or alive, outside of the thread, unless your role permits it.
6.) Once dead, you stop posting. A bah post is fine though.
7.) If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
8.) Try to post as often as possible. Treat the game as a committment. If you go inactive, you will be replaced.
9.) I'll try to post votecounts as often as possible. Feel free to ask for a votecount at any time.
10.) Do not make verbally abuse any participants of this game at any point. This is a game, and I will not tolerate childish insults. Any personal attacks will result in punishments-up to and including Modkills.
11.) Do not quote or fakequote your role PM. This is a modkillable offence.
12.) Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts. Invisible text is also prohibited, but small font is acceptable.
13.) Coloured font is reserved for me. Anyone else using coloured font will be entitled to 1 warning, and if the offence is repeated, i will modkill the offender.
14.) Have fun!

It sounds, from the description, like we might have 2 opposing cults? I'm not sure, but that's what it sounds like.

Perhaps there's townies, or maybe the "evil" cult begins as a mason group which can convert... or something.

I prefer not to speculate too hard on the hidden rules of these Mini Themes, cause I will most likely be wrong and end up confusing myself in the process...

Perhaps there are townies? Am I misunderstanding or are you claiming that you don't know if there is a town? The only way you could not know that is if your role pm didn't mention you being a townie.

Yawn. Not sure of the setup, just suggesting that I don't think a cult's particularly likely.

Even if i did seem sure of the setup, why would that make me scum? I've never seen a game where only the scum knew the setup.

I wrote that from a neutral point of view; I know my role, and I know whether or not there are townies, but the fact that some don't forces me to speculate as much as possible.

By posing every possibility, even ones I know to be false, I can get others to slip up and say the things we need to know, thus helping the town get the info it needs.

Hang on a second. Claiming you
do
know whether there's townies or not is even worse than acting like you don't. Because you can't possibly know for a fact there are no townies, and you can't know there definitely are unless you are one, which brings up the usual issue about early claims being bad for town.

Basically, the pro-town thing to do there is not to mention the bleeping townies in the first place.
