Yeah, for some reason lots of games are lagging right now. Not sure why; college finals should be over, right?

Look at it this way guys, proving anything in this game is hard.

You get revived if you're pro town, but since there's no alignment verification, ever, except by NKd townies, it's difficult to prove that you're pro town.

It's likely, that we would probably vote the one who does come up with good logic, and brings stuff to the table, while ignoring the people who suggest that we should definitely revive this person, while stating no reason.

We also need to remember that in these opening stages, we are voting representatives for the town, since we in Day 1, cannot vote for revival, only Karma, which is only a guideline similar to FoSes, albeit one slightly more monitored by the mod.

All we can do is go on our gut instinct, really, since there will rarely be any definite proof, short of the scum claiming Cop.

Eh? He's posting elsewhere in the forum. I was assuming he just hadn't posted a new vote count because no one's voted since the last one...

Anyway, anyone have any ideas of anything else usefull we can discuss today? Anyone else getting any scum tells/town tells in the past few pags they haven't mentioned yet?

It might be difficult to keep the flow of the game going without any real bandwagons...

My access is back to normal now.

I aqgree that if anyybody has an ideal of what we should do they should let us in on it.
I'm really kind of lost on any reasonable way to decide who we should vote for other than just kind of going with who we have good vibes of.

I also think they we should all mentally prepare for this to be a very long game.

There are no definite ways of picking people, due to the age old barrier of not knowing alignment until death.

As such, as people have said before, it's difficult telling whether we've made the right decision, since the mafia could just not NK, (and taking into account the random variables) to confuse us.

Nor is there any way of removing someone from the live bench, unless the scum listen to the town's demands.

If we want to get this started, we could try bandwagoning someone onto the live bench, and try and work out how people reacted to that, and look for scum tells. The concept of distance to the scum is an important one, as you want to get a scumbuddy on the bench, but you don't want it obvious that you are unduely rallying for this person.

This is arguably the most important stage of the game, since we are voting our representatives, who we assume will listen to the town's demands, as shown by Karma.

How about
a vote count
just to see where we're at?

Sorry folks again, things IRL haven't been working out for me lately.

As of now, I'm liking Yellowbounder's responses. Relph's random voting suggestion is not going to work at all, as has been pointed out. The information we get from random voting normally has little value, and is fine as a way to get things moving, but I think we're already past that point.

I'm also not that happy about everyone self-voting. It's not going to get us anywhere. If we're going to use self-voting as a type of "random voting" as we use random votes in normal mafia to get things started, I could see a use for it, because it would spark conversation. But, we seem to be moving out of the random stage of things at this point, so I think at this point self-voting would be useless.

For now,
Good Karma: Yellowbounder
.

No vote yet. I'll see how things develop.

Well, in a desperate attempt to get some conversation going...

LML, why did you "Bad Karma" ralph for random voting? I'm not sure random voting is a bad idea here; if everyone votes themselves we wouldn't get anywhere, and that in order to get somewhere we would probably have to start some bandwagons, basically semi-randomally at best early in day 1, and see what happens. I think. Or I guess we could just have "negitive karma" bandwagon-ish things, but those seem likely to provide less information then actual votes since they don't really mean anything.

Anyway, I think my point was, why did you think that random voting is a scum tell?

I just got proded and I have two of the last seven posts.

Lame.

VRK's post does not sit well with me. He has said very little and shows up to through some good karma at yellowbounder. I don't like him being against self voting. If anything I can not think of any scenario, town/scum, that would not want to vote for themselve.

Maybe we should start talking about who we don't want to vote for and why we don't want to vote for that person.

Maybe it's less self voting that the trouble is, and more of self hammering?

Think about it, you put someone at REVIVE-1, and then they hammer themselves. Is that considered a protown thing to do?
