Patrick's on his way back at the moment so topics will be on their way very soon.
Congratulations scum; you played a good team game and used the town against themselves. I wish I'd been able to force through a Prozac lynch - and, of course, apologies for disappearing for old times' sake. Though I never ended up with a great deal of time to actually spend on this game, I really enjoyed catching up with it and playing alongside so many of you again. Hopefully the next Oldy game, one day in the distant future, will come at a better time for me to participate more fully.#greenshirtthursdays-

Argh, I knew Bookitty was scum. Why do I keep going after the wrong first impressions?
On the other hand, Porochaz tricked me well.
Congratulations, scum! It was a good game everyone, but a very hard one too. It was a real endurance test.
I have to apologise, especially to PJ Sotty and Juls, for my lack of interest in this game after I was outed as a mason. It kind of spoiled the game for me (especially after I put a brutal effort into my breadcrumbs! ).
And it's made me come to terms with the fact that I am clearly not cut out to be a decent mafia player. I reckon I lack the confidence you have to have to express, share, sustain, and compromise your views.
Anyway, thank you all for the agreeable company, and thank you Patrick for modding!-

I KNEW you did.
I tried to discount it or ignore it, but I was sure you knew I was scum
That's why I was so relieved when we finally decided to nightkill you"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."-

Main aim of the setup was just to create something balanced and uncomplicated, with the traditional theme of a mafia versus a town. I played around with a few versions of it, eventually cutting down the vanilla cop so as to avoid the risk of a "follow the cop protected by hidden doc" style game that would have been very difficult for scum and very routine for town with 3 masons as confirmed innocents. Since the role only distinguised between vanilla townie/non vanilla townie, it was quite a useful investigative role, weaker than a normal cop but plenty capable of confirming a slew of players - I didn't want an invitational to turn into that type of game. I don't think the scum needed any powers beyond daytalk to make the setup fair.
This felt like a chore to mod at times, as the number of replacements exceeded even what I'd expected (and I am quite cynical already), but I'm glad it happened. Town appeared to be in a very strong position on day 1 and I was fully expecting quick LML/Bookitty lynches, but somehow Bookitty slipped away and was largely forgotten. Then again on day 4, after STD was lynched, I fully expected Prozac to follow, but he seemed to keep slipping away with townies falling instead. This game actually felt very close to me despite the large number of mislynches and bouts of apathy, and I don't think it would have taken too much for it to go the other way.

Bookitty's roleplaying/morale building made for some amusing reading The strength of daytalk seems to vary dramatically from game to game: I've modded games where scum got almost nothing out of it, and others like this where it saw alot of use. Thanks to everyone for playing, especially those who replaced into huge rereads, and maybe one day an Oldy Mafia 3 will appear.Primpod 11:13 pm

I really loved our scumteam. I actually got into the mindset that we were the good guys and the town was composed of bad guys. I didn't want to bus STD, though I do accept (now) that it was necessary. LML contributed to the win to a HUGE degree by inspiring chaos and leaving very little for town to work with in identifying the rest of our team. STD was so much fun to play with and was sadly missed when he was gone. Although I didn't bond as closely with the replacement circus, SpyreX's bus of STD (which I really resented at the time!) was a key factor in our win, as was ika's idea about simulvoting.
For me, though, Porochaz was the single most influential scum player. He was with us all through the game and was willing to take risks, to piss off aggressive players (I'm looking at you, ABR) and to make the sacrifice play if it was needed. I couldn't imagine a scum win without him, so I was never willing to bus him even though at certain points he did urge me to. I just didn't see a pathway to victory without his help and his behind-the-scenes support and understanding of the game.
I am legitimately not very good at playing scum. I'm not that great as town, either So I want to say thanks to LoudMouthLee, Save the Dragons, Porochaz and ika for making this game fun and helping us to pull out a win in the end. You guys are the best"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."-

I really enjoyed how the whole town wanted me dead everyday, and the scum wanted me dead every night.Paraphrasing a role PM takes seconds, fabricating a good fakeclaim takes an eternity.

Thanks for modding, Patrick.
Set-up looks fairly balanced, and it's impressive scum rallied from so many dead-end lynches (especially since all three Masons were viable lynch candidates, sigh) to still hit enough mislynches/misvigs to pull it off. Nice to see a cohesive and communicative scum team, the win is totally deserved."Logic? I call that flapdoodle."-

The only thing that kept bothering me about Bookitty was that she had admitted to reading along prior to joining and then was like "oh I have notes up through the LML lynch I can share". Like she really wanted to share them but wanted it to be cause the town asked for it. But then I just let it go. Catching up was such a massive task that I forgot why I thought someone was scummy or why I didn't.-------------------------------------

Sorry I didn't have time to play guys. This was a very fun game.
3/5. Not a bad scum-detecting record based on Day 1 first impressions. People need to remember to trust those.Occasionally intellectually honest
