Tell me why it is bad to vote someone with squiggles.

It's a joke.

Nope he only does that as scum. Atleast these days he only does that as scum.

PookyTheMagicalBear wrote:1) Ok, so let's try this again, did you look through the thread for people with squiggles in their names, find N9V, and then vote him for those squiggles? Basically my question is this, did you look at that list, look for people with squiggles in their name, and then decide on N9V because of those squiggles, and then vote him?

If so, can you inform me as to the reasoning behind why you vote people with squiggles?

I saw the name with the squiggles and made a joke about it. End of story. There was no other reason behind my vote.

2) So you're saying that you can determine when those people I listed as missing for a week or more will post next? And you're also saying that even though I signed up for this game, it was impossible to determine if I would post ever? I find it rather hard to believe that both of those statements would be true, which is what they would have to be in order for your previous statement about indeterminability to be true.

Some people sign up for games and then forget to check back for ages, missing the start of the game. People who post in the thread at least show they realize the game has begun.

3) So why haven't you? Only 4 pages in the thread...

As I said I feel I've already made my point. Actually, one thing
you
could do is a bit of research before making up arguments. You could have looked through the thread yourself to see if people were making sarcastic comments before saying it was a scum-tell and taking up the stance that not many people (other than me) utilized it. The fact is I at least brought some examples as evidence to the table and you have, as yet, brought nothing.

4) a) And this is a point against me how?(plus I disagree with you on the "Essentially rehashed it" point, but for the sake of argument, even if it were true, it still doesn't really count against me...)

As I've said a million times: it made you look like you were jumping on the easiest target using other peoples arguments, no matter how weak they were.

b) Fine line? I said I was voting you MOSTLY because of your early comments, partly because I <3 Tali. You said you were voting N9V because he had SQUIGGLES IN HIS NAME. I think the 2 actions are very different.

You have to admit there are some obvious similarities between the two actions.

I am not really getting a scum vibe from ThAd.

unvote: ThAdmiral

Pooky, hmm, not sure. ;)

But for now, I'm with Coron. The jokey mafia claim is the best scum evidence I have seen so far.

did you read my comments on Scarecrow!?
They are far more noteworthy than a bogus Mafia Claim. Im leaning towards Fircoal being town, because i can see a strong possibility of scum trying to get him lynched on the basis of it being serious-which it evidently wasnt.
That is how i regard you atm.

to be quite honest, i havent had the stomach to read them in full. The argument between him and Thadmiral using different colours in quotes was a nightmare to read, and i dont think it really achieved anything.

Exactly. He thinks it's ridiculous to vote someone just because he has squiggles in his name, but it just was another version of a random vote.

I'm inclined to vote Pooky right now, but it'll wait a while.

frankly, i think your vote is fine where it is. Pooky has been acting scummy, but its nothing in comparison to Scarecrow.
Id like to hear more from him before anyone takes their vote off...

OK, so, er, you think I'm scummy why? Because I asked whether or not Firecoal was serious? It's not like it would have been less scummy to vote him for no reason, and after I was told he was of course joking, I had nothing more to do with it.

I really don't understand your logic here.

actually, i think it WOULD have been less scummy to just vote for him. The fact that you chose not to, is a sign that it was a calculated move. A misplaced vote is easy to understand in protown players, but somebody looking for an opportunity to join a strong wagon is distinctly scummy.
I dont think you deserve a lynch based solely on this, but i will be watching your behaviour from now on...

Oh, so you're saying that it looked like I was waiting to see if anyone would take the bait before I committed to a wagon. I can understand that. However, that was not the case, I was simply making sure I wasn't missing anything, because I admit I haven't been following this game too closely recently.

oh, and I'll
unvote: Coron
, because my vote was a joke, and
FoS: Pooky
for failing to understand a joke (a joke that Pooky must have seen dozens and dozens of times), and devoting considerable effort toward attacking ThAdmiral because of it.

I do not think you've taken the time or effort to read my reasoning, which is probably why you do not see why that actually is the point.

Which is basically my view of the game btw, that most of you are probably too lazy to actually read what took place during the exchange between me and him, and are idly thumbing your arms.

Disgusted and disappointed I am.

Absolute nonsense.

The way I see it: ThAdmiral makes a standard random vote with a joke reason...then Pooky spends 3 pages interrogating ThAdmiral for it, and when Pook's reasoning is questioned he
doesn’t
say “well, I was just fishing...” No, he sticks to his guns on the line of argument that joking about a random vote on day 1 is a scum tell, and that
explaining that it was a joke is a scum tell
!

From a noob?
Maybe
. From Pooky?
Nope
.

I would say that I don’t trust ThAdmiral either, (and I still don’t) but I fail to see how anyone could sensibly defend against such random unsubstantiated nonsense without resorting to just repeating again and again “dude...it was a JOKE.”

We still have lurkers, and we still have some questionable votes here and there, but Pooky put on his own flea-collar.
