Zoraster is correct. This is actually MUCH more secure than QT, which could potentially even end up on Google if linked badly. This is a whitelist system, meaning you have to authorize them to have access, even if they somehow got the link.

Obviously we PREFER that things are handled through the Game Mod. Sometimes players don't know who to contact though, and sometimes the (potential) violation involves more than just your game, or worst case scenario it involves another game that YOU are a player in. We will still work through the Game Mod as much as possible.

yes. That's actually #2 on the policy list. Ask the appropriate listmod for access to create a review thread. If you already have access (because you're on one of the mod lists), you may create a review thread already.

Minor issue: The "X posts, page Q of Z" text is black on black.

Also, it might be not a bad idea to background-colour private topics green in lists such as the bookmarks page.

They should have the automatic PRIVATE TOPIC: prefix in all "list" pages (while they are locked down, anyway). Coloring them green there might actually draw the eye of an Accidental Reader more than usual, plus it is likely not easy to encode.

I'm not on the mod list. :(

And I'm not keen to ask everytime I'm set to start a setup when I got quicktopics right over there. (I mean
geez
I have to actually send a pm and do stuff?)

I think I've been sold on it for in game use though...

You should already be /inned to the right Queue for the game you're going to play, right? Just ask the LM of that queue.

by quadz08
Not necessarily. Both Large Theme and Micro queues require that you have a completed setup before /in'ing due to short queue times.

Tierce does for all normal games now too. I've set my games up this way for a while because it gets the game reviewed and ready to go the quickest anyway.

yeah. you don't need to be /inned to ask to have access to review. We'll notice if you illicitly start a game anyway. If you already have group access, just go ahead and make a review topic. We don't need to sign off on that. If you don't, we'll happily give it to you.

I don't have access, and in post 29 I was kind of implying that I was too lazy to go through the extra step of asking for access with ready access to quicktopics. :P

I find the idea that a Game Mod is too lazy to send one additional PM kind of hilarious. I know you're kinda-joking, but...

Well I for one will immediately be moving my current games to

pastures.

(Seriously this is awesome thanks guys)

You should add up the time you spend drafting Role PMs and flavor posts, and then subtract the time spent writing that extra PM. So far that has been the biggest advantage to me, even over the security questions.

Looks interesting, great work guys.

Question: Do PTs stay private forever as long as I don't ever make them public? For example, I typically reveal scum QTs at the end of the game unless one of them objects. While this has never happened in my games, if it were to happen, would simply leaving the PT alone ensure that it would never become public and that nobody other than myself or a listmod could make it public?

Posted: Tue Apr 15, 2014 7:08 am
by Mr. Flay
Yes. They don't "time out" and there is no expectation in place that you MUST release them after the game, same as QTs.

Can we use them for hydras, or are they only for games and setup creation?

I don't believe we've addressed that, but at this time I'd prefer to keep them for game-setup-related threads. I will bring the question up, however.

What, or who, is to stop me using PT's for Mish Mash purposes if I wanted to?

No one. Ask Xalxe if you need permissions to create a thread for Mish Mash.

*waves*

In a serious answer, only mafia game mods can create threads right now. I'm hoping to get the ability to give Mish Mash mods permissions shortly, but that's a technical delay.

Miscellaneous section private topics for hydra qt and setup review stuff?

probably not necessary since you only ever have access to threads directed at you/public threads that we'll archive.

As for hydras, we're discussing it, and will get back to you.
