Time Stamp Issue

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Fri Nov 03, 2006 3:54 am

Post by Yaw »

Weird issue where some posts are showing up in the future. (Examples: spectrumvoid here and here, and EmpTyger here -- all of which are time stamped over 6 hours in the future from when I'm posting this.) This has resulted in posts out of order in Evolution (my most recent post should be
after
spectrumvoid's), and possibly elsewhere.

Huh.

That's a new one.

Please post here if you (or anyone else) is having this problem. I don't have any idea what could cause it, but it'll help us (us meaning jeep) track it down if we know exactly who it is affecting.

Would it be possible to go in manually and fix up these posts, where necessary, so that they at least appear in the correct sequence? I'm not sure about the other instances, but in Evolution Mafia spectrumvoid's post (currently the last one in the thread, time stamp 4:45pm by EST) should be the real post 945 (between Cogito Ergo Sum and myself).

Thanks. It's just causing unnecessary confusion.

Edited to add: spectrumvoid PMed me to indicate that she is now unable to post completely, or at least in certain threads. Interestingly, the time stamp on her PM appeared to be correct...

Should be. I don't have time to do it right now, but I'll see if I can get to it before I go to bed.

Perhaps this is why spectrumvoid's getting that "you cannot post so soon after" error message that Yaw quoted in the V/LA thread? Because it's reading her as already posted
later
?

As already reported, I was having a timestamp issue with one of my posts. But more importantly, I *couldn't* post or PM afterwards! I kept getting the "You cannot make another post so soon after your last; please try again in a short while." error. I am hoping that now that my most recent post has actually occured in the past, I can make a post. Maybe this has something to do with DST?

Testing to see if the "can't post" error is cleared up. Which it appears to be.

Gah. Like 5 seconds after I hit the submit button, I had this error:
phpBB : Critical Error
Could not connect to the database…

********!!!!

And now a whole lot of people in all the games I've been in think I'm scummy for disappearing. Gah!

On a happier note, it looks like the time stamp problem has been resolved, and I'm finally able to log in.

On a side note, can the mod please change the topic of this thread to something like SV's time stamp issue? If not I'll be lynched in over 50% of my games because no one believes me. (I could have faked the not logging in bit, but no way am I awesome enough to post from the future...)

If people are too lazy to come here and check what you said in all your threads, they deserve to be lynched themselves. :P You shouldn't be lynched over just this issue.

Also, it happened to EmpTyger as well. (Plus, I crossposted your issue into the V/LA thread, so there's at least two reasons they have no excuse.)
