Welcome to Sanity Mafia! Here are my standard rules of mafia I expect we adhere to for fun and fatality.


- Votes must be in

bold

, preferably in the format of

Vote: Person

. If you do not bold your vote, it will not be counted.

- Please be attentive and unvote, if necessary, before casting a new vote. This is not required, but I’d appreciate it. A happy mod is a player's best friend.

- Lynchings will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, his pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. You may

vote: no lynch

– majority votes of this kind are necessary to end the day without a death.

- The game is not to be discussed outside of the thread, before or during the game, unless your role specifically states that you may do so.

- Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. Stop typing.

- Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts. You shouldn't be able to, but just in case.

- Don’t quote or paraphrase any PMs from me. You should be able to pretend in thread that I'm not a part of this game outside of this thread, other than necessary nightchoice responses, if any.

- If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will not wait for you – if you do not submit a choice to me, tough! No choice will be made.

- If you anticipate being unavailable for more than a 48-hour period, please post a notice to that effect in the thread.

Treat this game as a commitment.

I will try and be fairly active with prods. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.

- Remember, it’s a game. It’s supposed to played. It’s supposed to be fun. Do your part.

Then, some special rules of my own for this game.

Please pay close attention to these.

+ Days have a strict 3-week deadline that will not be extended for any reason, including replacements. At a deadline, a simple plurality will successfully lynch a player. Earlier time of final vote on tied players breaks ties.

+ I will try to prod people, but I may miss some people. If you haven't posted in a 72-hour period, you may receive a prod. It means you're missed, and we want you playing!

+ However, if twice people request you to be prodded, and I believe for sufficient reason, I reserve the right to replace you without prior warning. Well, you actually

All roles have a sanity in this game.

The four traditional sanities are: Sane; Insane; Paranoid; Naive.

All

roles have been assigned one of these sanities.

+ There is at least one Psychiatrist in the game.

A Psychiatrist is guaranteed to be sane.

The ability of a Psychiatrist is:

You are a Psychiatrist. Each night, you may PM me the name of a living player to investigate. I will tell you the sanity of that player. (The four possible sanities are: Sane; Insane; Naive; Paranoid.)

You are guaranteed to be sane.

+ All pro-town players have this as their win condition:

You win when everyone out to get you has been killed.

+ This game will begin in the Day phase.

Deadlines = must get to serious playing as fast as possible. The closer a deadline is, the more it works in the favor of scum. We can't afford to dink around.
