Rules

(blantantly stolen and altered from bloojay who stole them from discer who stole them from Werebear who stole them from Meme)

1. "Nights" will last as long as I need them to. The deadline will be posted. If you need an extension, just tell me, I might need one someday myself.

2. "Days" will last as long as they need to. If discussion lags, I will impose a deadline. If discussion picks up, the deadline will be rescinded. Aren't I the nice one??? (the correct answer is... NO)

3. Votes must be in bold. If you do not bold your vote, it will not be counted. If you are not counted, you do not exist.

4. Unvotes must proceed new votes. If you do not unvote before voting, you are still voting for the previous person. If you are still voting for the previous person, they may become dead.

5. Once a player has reached the necessary majority to lynch, the day is over. Unvoting them will not save their life. At deadline, half majority will constitute a lynch. Otherwise, there will be no lynch.

6. No lynches are allowed, they require the same votes as a lynch.

7. The game is not to be discussed outside of the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so. You button your lip, or I button it for you.

8. Once your death scene has been posted, unless you're not dead, you’re dead. You will be told if you're not dead. Once your dead please DO NOT POST until the game is over. I will allow one "BAH!" post, as long as it contains no pertinent information.

9. Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts. No matter what stupid thing you've done. Why can't you just THINK? I mean, come on!

10. Don’t quote any PMs or e-mails from me, lest I kill you.

11. If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. If you miss a deadline, a random choice will be made. This usually involves you being very unhappy.

12. If you're going to be gone any amount of time, let everyone know.

13. The mod is god. Any mistakes such as inaccurate vote counts are obviously YOUR mistake. Please point out your mistakes so I can correct them. And if I ask you to eat play-doh, you say "WHAT COLOR, MOD!?". Sacrifices of small woodland animals accepted.

It will take a 3/4ths majority to lynch a mayor instead of the normal 1/2. After the first election, mayoral elections will be conducted at night through pm to

On another note, it clearly dosn't matter yet, but once we actually get roles, this part seems especally interesting:

The mayor cannot be lynched or targetted at night, nor can they make any night actions of their own.

So, it sounds like, along with everything else, the mayor is effectivly role-blocked. So we've got to somehow try to avoid electing the doc or the cop to be mayor, if we can.

Pooky's Guide to Electing a Mayor Part(Written for those who have not very much experience playing with some of the Illustrious Players who have chosen to grace our presence)(Also Apologies to those who are left out of this guide, Pooky's not played enough with you to write a very good entry and has had to leave you out as a result, hopefully this will be amended in the future, Pooks looks foward to this game with you so as to figure this out)

1. Coron
"The Purist"
If there's one thing that can be said about Coron, it's that he's consistent, regardless of what sort of insults, criticism, pressure or whatnot that can be exerted on him, he will not budge from his acerbic position of writing short snippy comments, refusing to provide reasoning, and using insults quite liberally without much regard for the feelings of those he is playing with. Won't claim under pressure and a entertaining player to say the least. Has a fine mind and is able to comprehend advanced strategy quickly(I've seen him figure out correct plays that no1 was even looking for in terms of sparing the SK or NLing). A shame that most times he is not listened to because of his unwillingness to articulate his points.


2. Someone
"The Missing"
Someone is an "oldschool" player who's been missing for quite a while, in the old days he was most well known for having brought that ridiculously good looking flame Nox into our fold which caused quite a few battles to the death in her name. Though he hasn't been playing for a while, this should be a good time for him to shake the rust off those joints.


4. petroleumjelly
"The Verbose"
Quite possibly the most verbose player in the history of Mafiascum(running neck and neck with Seol at the moment), he has the habit of posting very long posts that analyze pretty much every relevant bit in the game, very good instincts when looking for scum combined with the ability to articulate and show clearly to the rest of the town his reasoning and effectively interrogate makes him a terror for scumbags to play against! Though his posts will usually take lots of time to read through, they are often very helpful and useful and you will not be disappointed! Pooky's top recommendation for Mayor besides himself.


6. Glork
"The Glork"
He has some of the best instincts in terms of finding Mafia that I've seen, often flawless logical progression and a concise delivery of logic that is quite dreadful for a scumbag to face, very resistant to scum trying to cling on to him, not easily placated or confused. Has almost nothing in the way of scumtells, and certainly won't hesitate to throw his teammate under the bus over the river and through the forests.

"The Looney Tune"
Absolutely insane in terms of play, luck as heck sometimes in terms of hitting scum, if you're interested in playing roulette, then electing this guy as mayor will probably be the best way to do it. Always a blast to play with, the party keg's over here!


12. MrBuddyLee
"The Prodigal Son"
This player's style is quite solid, I've rarely seen him make a mistake and he's quite often right in terms of who the scum are, he's not as developped in terms of convincing others of voting with him against the scum he has pinned but I can easily see him improving in that region and becoming another terror for the scum to face.


16. Vaughn
"The Cutie"
This is the person that Pooks is probably most afraid of flying under the radar, he possesses excellent logical and deductive facilities and is quite often capable of being overlooked in a game full of so many of the dominant personalities, an absolute mistake for the town to make because this nice complacent fellow who can easily toss his entire scumteam under the bus will coast to a win with all the humility of a true gentleman.(see "Payola Mafia")


21. Yaw
"The Rock"
There's so much that I can say about Yaw's play, I'd have to take a whole page to outline everything that's really quite so spectacular about this player. He has immense strategic vision in terms of where he's trying to move the game, where most people think about who's the most suspicious and who could be with who and where the lynch should fall today, this guy's mapping out where every role in the game can possibly be, using process of elimination and logic to figure out where the probable scum are, calculating possible risks if the lynch falls wrong, calculating the risks involved if it does, quite often he will come up with the best plan in terms of risk/reward, if there's anyone who can come up with a complete vision of the game and act on it without leaving everyone confused and baffled, it's this guy. His logic and vision are often completely undeniable and his play has almost always been terrific. He's been missing for quite a while so he could be a little rusty so I can't make him my top pick for Mayor besides myself, he's definitely the person I look foward to playing with the most.


24. Blackberry
"The Survivor"
He's run so many games based on survival and player-player interactions that if there's anyone who understand the politics and player interactions behind this game, it's gotta be him. If there's anyone who can see that a player-player relationship might be a little different due to some reason(possibly drew scum together?) it's gonna be Blackberry. Has very good long term vision in terms of strategy, something that's going to be vital in a 30 player game.

"The Author"
I could write a lot about myself, but that would probably be all biased and what not, I'll let someone else write about me and why they think I should or should not be mayor. Personally I think it should be me of course

"The Last"
I remember in my very first game with him, Yosarian made a profound impression upon me, I was Mafia Godfather and everytime I spoke with him I got more and more angry at him because his instincts/logic were quite good! I did end up terminating him at night but that game will always be glued in my memory. Excellent instincts and logic, articulative ability quite good and able to keep his points concise and readable.

...if I am not to be elected Mayor, I would love to see MBL as the Mayor for at least a little while. The guy's given me some very good impressions in pretty much every game I've seen him him (whether I was playing that game or not). He may be relatively new to the site, but IMHO, he's easily the best of the recent bunch of Scummers.
