2. As always, the Forum Rules and Guidelines apply. I’m going to assume you’ve read these, so I’m not going to repeat them.

3. Don’t make any posts that may even remotely look like mod communication. If I edit a post, I’ll sign it.
   
4. The only places outside of this thread you are permitted to talk about this game are in mod-provided quicktopics.
   
5. Don’t quote private mod communication – this includes but is not limited to role PMs, night actions and anything posted in a quicktopic. You may
   paraphrase
   these things, however.
   
6. If you’re unsure whether something you post could count against the “playing to your wincon” rule, think about how you would perceive it if someone else made the same post.
   
7. Personal remarks and insults are not welcome at all. There is no problem with criticising how others play
   in this game
   , but as soon it goes beyond that line there will be one warning before I start force-replacing.
   
8. If someone is modkilled, their alignment will change to “neutral survivor” and there will be no chance of them winning the game, even if their original faction does so.

10. If a player does not post in the game thread for over 48 hours, they will be prodded. After this prod, they are given a 24 hour grace period to make a post – otherwise I will start searching for a replacement.
    
11. I will keep track of the number of prods given to each player. If a player has received three or more prods, I reserve the right to search for their replacement if their activity does not pick up.
    
12. Please post V/LA notices in-thread at least 24 hours in advance of them starting.
    
13. Game days will be at most 2 weeks long, unless a replacement is required within the last 48 hours of a game day.
    
14. Game nights will last 48 hours.
    
    
    
    Voting Rules
    
    
15. When making votes, please use the vote or bold tags. For a vote (or unvote) to be counted, it must be at the start of a new line.
    
16. Unvoting before voting again is not compulsory.
    
17. If one player receives a majority (at least 51%) of votes, they are that day’s lynch and any further voting/unvoting will be futile.
    (Players - including the lynchee - may still comment after majority has been reached and until the mod locks the thread.)
    
18. If a majority of votes is not reached before deadline, there will be no lynch for that day.

I have to say that reaching isn't always scummy especially in the rvs stage of the game. If it helps us break out rvs then it can be good. The hard part is distinguishing between scummy reaching which scum are forced to do no matter what or town reaching like a protown player who plays from gut or a cop with a guilty who doesn't want to admit his a cop and the player who has a guilty has no real case on him at the moment. (Stole these examples from elsewhere )

Also if you think about it everyone has to reach to get out of the rvs stage. This is my thought on reaching anyway.

Axxle's vote is hardly bacon wrapped in win, but there was enough of a gap between my post and Garmr's post that I could see feeling it was kind of faked, and the worst I could say about it is actually opportunism around maybe trying to slide in off Bastion.

But, here we sit, in RVS, where people are ruddy making up reasons to vote people, and the first guy who comes out with something halfway serious gets attacked by you for "reaching"?

That's how Axxl post felt to me, like he was looking for something to call scummy, instead of looking for the scum itself. Although, looking at what you've all said about reaching, i can see that it doesn't make as much sense this early in the game, when people are trying to get the ball going.

@Garmr: Do you agree with Thor? My reaching for a reach is scummy?

@Bstion: I'm more rusty than you, and english isn't my native language. So i'm gonna have to ask you. Are you talking about buses?


p-edit: I've played a couple mafia games here on an old acc, some years ago. I lost that account's name/pass, so i created this acc recently, cause i just randomly decided it would be fun to play Mafia again. I also played a Mafia with a couple of friends at college. So, i'm not as experienced as most players in this game i guess, but i'm relatively familiarized with it.

To be honest even I have trouble distinguishing between pro town reaching and scummy reaching. I don't really view Guth as scummy because of his vote and reaching can be considered a scum tell but I don't see Axxle axle reaching as scum reaching. I'm more suspicious of Maxous who hasn't laid down a vote and is content on just calling people towny while fueling the flames between the two wagons.
