I think we should first try to think about what books are in use...we know at least three from the deathscene. And I think we can rule out non-horror books such as greenmile because of the first post speaks of horror. And also rule out any books released this year and possibly last year because gnome has been working on this game for quite sometime. Also I'm not sure about short stories...that is hard to predict because there are some famous ones such as "The Langoliers" from Four Past Midnight, so that is up in the air. But I'm pretty sure we can rule out DreamCatcher from the line up. Based on the deathscene thus far I think heis going with popular books, not sure on how movies would relate though.

That is my two cents for now.

Eh, I don't think we can rule anything out yet, but sure, major characters from King's more popular horror books are probably more likely.

The other issue with claiming is that some of the heroes in his books are kind of dark themselves, so we can't even base claims on the relative scumminess of the name.

Actually, this part I don't agree with...

Some of the heros in King's books are a little gray, sure, but the bad guys are REALLY, REALLY BAD. Unless the mod is really trying to mess with our heads, it shouldn't be that hard to tell what role-names sound scummy.

Of course, I still don't think we'd get anywhere by a mass claim, except reveal town power-roles; thinking about the characters in several King books, it might not be hard to peg a cop, or a vig, or a doc by their role names (as I can think of several characters off the top of my head that would make perfect sense as any one of those roles), and the odds of catching a scum by him claiming a role a townie has are pretty small.

I'm not sure if I like the arimanes bandwagon, yes raj could be right, but personally I didnt see anything wrong with the way arimanes was posting and raj didn't really give me an answer when i asked about it, he simply restated what he has stated earlier. You win the award for best avoidance of a question in a mafia related game. however I would still like for you to give a real reason as to why we should lynch arimnaes, if you can do so then I will be fully willing to jump on board.

Mass claims are never a good idea so early on, especially when there so many characters available.

P.S - Raj, the books are pretty much always better than the movies as some of the movies are nothing like the books. (Needful things for example)

There are a couple of things I’d like to see right now:

First, I’d like to know why people think my posts were scummy. This isn’t a rhetorical question; I would literally like to know. I’m not currently satisfied with raj’s “They don’t sit right with me.”

Second, I want to hear Pug’s response to this little incident. I’m annoyed that he seems to be strategically lurking while I get wagoned.

Finally, I want to hear from armlx and zu_Faul. By my reckoning, they haven’t posted yet. Even if their first posts are “lol yeh arimnaes is scum vote him now”, I'd still like to see them.

And since it needs to be said, I am NOT (read: not) trying to move the discussion off of me. I don’t mind my level of relative scumtacularity being discussed, I would just like to hear from the lurkers and to get a more definitive answer about why people think I’m scum.
