Survivor: Mafia - Game Over, Report to Camp

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Tue Feb 07, 2006 12:17 pm

Post by Jeff Probst »

Here is Camp.

Welcome to Tribal Council. This is where the all-important voting will be held.

Tribal Council 2 begins
Tribal Council 3 begins
Tribal Council 4 begins
Tribal Council 5 Begins
Tribal Council 6 Begins

Voting
  • Everybody votes, whether Immune or not.
  • Standard majority rules are in effect. Majority counts all players, not just those on the chopping block.
  • Votes are to be sent to me, your host, via PM.

  • Vote counts will only reflect votes sent via PM. Vote counts will also only reflect the number of votes I person currently has on them. A Not Voting list will not be provided.
  • You may unvote as well - send a PM with UNVOTE in the subject.

  • In the unfortunate case of a deadline, a majority of majority is required. If players are tied, timestamps will be applied, and the player to reach their current count first will be lynched.
  • For efficient tallying, send voting PMs with your vote, unvote, or unvote/vote in the SUBJECT of the PM.

  • If there are any other questions, please ask, and I'll add clarifications to this post.
Mod questions should now be sent in separate PMs from the votes.

Tribal Council #1

OK, guys, grab the torches over there, and dip them into the fire. As you all know by now, fire represents your life here on the island. Once your fire is gone, you must exit.

So, the Blue Tribe is Immune for this vote. You may only vote for:
1. Draygn_Mage
2. Blackberry
3. Marc.Six
4. Pianogwen81
5. Harry Potter
6. Rupert
7. Agent 47
8. Elvis_Knits
9. Yosarian2
10. Monty
11. Tamuz
12. Johnny Fairplay

Game on.

Well, this basically sucks because we have to choose someone blindly to vote off. I take it we are allowed to discuss it in the thread before we cast our vote, right?

Voting occurs like normal games, except that you can't see who has voted for whom. This isn't intended to be a blind, one-shot deal. Unvote as often as you'd like - adding this to the list:

You may unvote as well - send a PM with UNVOTE in it, either in the subject or body.

Interesting mechanic. I didn't think I'd be able to vote in this TC.

Right now, I'm leaning torwards a JF vote, but will wait to see what else happens.

I think it would be better if we thought more as a town than as two seperate tribes.

Point: Bacde

Then again, we don't know whether what our tribes really do for us other than limt our lynches.

Bacde, I think that's a good idea. I'll put together a chart, if the town so desires, of vote correlations. If we, instead, think as a gigantic town, we may be able to see. Also, we have no clue the distribution of scum (as the teams were random), so by keeping close vote correlations, we may be able to ascertain scum from town.

EDIT WHILE TYPING:

We have an issue.

Voting patterns are for shit. As, we never find out who levied WHAT vote. This game will turn into a very interesting mafia excursion. I know I use voting patterns as a way to figure things out. This will give the ability of scum to fly underneath the radar.

Proposal to both tribes: We all refrain from voting until we hear from EVERYONE on a given day.

Uhm. What the hell?

Do you even know HOW to play mafia? You may want to do some research.

PS: I currently have immunity. You can vote me tomorrow. I'm trying to HELP the town. I picked the teams by RANDOM DICE ROLL. Everyone AGREED to it. WTF is wrong with you?

Interesting. We do have to be a little careful with our votes, because there is nothing to stop the scum from dropping the hammer on any townie whenver they want, if the vote gets close to a lynch. I'm not sure if the whole "bandwagon to a claim" stratagy is going to be a safe one to use in this game...

That being said, Jonney Fairplay was acting scummy back at camp, and I completly understand the reason someone would vote for him. If nothing better comes up, I might eventually put my vote there.

Vote Tally
:

Rupert - 1
Blackberry - 1
Johnny Fairplay - 3

13 to lynch.

Because of the mechanic, I'll try to have a tally for every 3 or 4 changes.

I agree with LML here, that we should try to be as organized as possible. If we have everyone state their votes, we won't run the risk of a risk-free scum-style quicklynch.

I also disagree on the notion that he is a bully. From what I can tell, he is trying his hardest to help the town. Probably(most definately) moreso than most.

Who was happy with the first random team, but not with the second, or vice versa? I would say go for that person.

This is probably the most redudant sentence, I have ever read. This has nothing to do with the game, but it made me laugh when I read it.

I'd say that's a fallacy because wanting to be on a certain team doesn't really help mafia. Everyone still gets to vote, and it's all kept secret, so it doesn't help mafia to be on the same team. Actually it helps them to be split up, because they're not all available to vote off on the same day.

Also, when picking teams, nobody knew how tribal was going down, so I don't think we can predict how mafia would have acted.

Well, that turned out to be true, but no one knew it was going to work like that at the time. I think it might still be a decent scum tell.

This isn't, BJ, a bandwagon/claim/unvote/bandwagon deal. We'll never know who is voting where. If we don't do this, how can we tell who is voting where?

Are we gonna make people own up to their votes? I feel like it takes some of the fun out of this game, but it should help us catch scum. We'll have to pay attention to who says they're voting what and check with the official VC, but it could pay off. We'd also prob have to lynch anyone who refuses to own up to their vote.

This is all well and good, but what's to stop the scum lying about where their vote went or if they had even voted at all? I do think it's a good idea and would help the town, but only if everyone is truthful. Seeing as we are playing mafia, getting the full truth from everybody is not something I'm about to bank on.

As of right now I'm thinking about voting for JF but nothing is set in stone yet.
