Stoofer's 2nd Law
states:

As a discussion in the Mafia Discussion Forum grows longer, the probability of someone voting for someone else in the thread approaches 1
.

It happened a couple of days ago in Yo
u know you have been playing too much Mafia when...
and is getting out of hand there. It has just happened in
Mafia Tells
.

::edit:: Turbovolver has pointed out that Stoofer's 1st Law is actually something else, so I have renamed this law Stoofer's 2nd Law.

You'd have to have the mind of Hitler or something to think that kind of law up!

As something on any thread or a combination of threads happens more often, the probability of someone making a new thread "inspired" by this "something" approaches 1.

I don't think thats limited to this forum, I think it occurs anywhere where the density of mafia players is above a certain (low) critical threshold, say, 1 mafia player per 10 active users?

^^ Yea...that's weirdly true...

I guess the stoofer equation is:

P = 1 - 1/n

Where P is the probability of a vote, and n is number of posts.

(waits for someone to make a thread with a vote on the first post to screw me over)

According to Godwin's law this discussionwas over in post three. According to common sense there was really nothing else to say after that anyway.

Oh, but there is. Let's bring up another of Stoofer's Laws, if I may:

In a C9 game, a townie lynch on day one will have both scum on the lynchwagon.

He brought it up in a game I was in with him, and if we believe his statistics it has like an 80% success rate (sample size: 8 or so). The reason I put it out there is to see if other people have found it to be true or untrue in their experience.

It is OK that I say this, right Mr. Stoofer? I mean it's already sort of public knowledge when you posted it up in our game. If not, sorry

If the game is still continuing, then I'd advise you leaving discussion at that post, and picking up conversation after the game has ended.

But what do I know? I'm but a meager game show host...

Check the five-year invitational. A townie was lynched day one, yet no scum were on the wagon.

Your name is awesome.

But no, the game is finished. I just wasn't sure if Mr Stoofer wanted his secrets revealed....

As one can see in the finally concluded Mini 257, this is true even when Stoofer is scum.

Turbovolver is quite right, This ought to be Stoofer's 1st Law in fact, since I have been propounding this for some time.

Note it only applies to C9 games, and therefore wouldn't apply to the invitational.

Yea, sorry I didn't see that earlier, or I would have proved you wrong earlier.
