Rules

1. All the standard stuff (bold votes, don't communicate when you shouldn't be, ect. ya'll know the drill)

2. Voting is a requirment (even if you don't have voting power)

3. Un-voting is strictly prohibited.

4. Day time shot clock is 120 weekday hours (1 full week). Any player not submitting a vote in this time will be warned and given a 1 day/night stay in the penalty box (no vote power, no role power). Any player missing the clock a second time will be mod-killed. Night shot-clock is 48 week-day hours. Failure to submit just gets counted as a no-action.

5. Have fun. Everything else is in the pm's. If you're unsure about something it's your responsibility to ask.

6. Plurality voting-person w/ the most voting power on him/her dies

7. No lynch isn't an option. War is Hell.

Victory Conditions

Union wants to eliminate the Confederacy. Confederacy wants to eliminate the Union. Any other relevant information is in the pm's.

Opening Write-up

North vs South. Union vs Confederacy. The American Civil War.

Night Zero had some fire-works.

ibaesha, a slave, was gunned down by Union cross-fire while fleeing the South.

Captain Cowbell, a Union Pacifist, was also gunned down by Union cross-fire.

Day 1 begins. The next post will contain a player list. Begin voting now. Shot clock will take us to this time next Wednesday. D1 will end at or before that time.

If I'm understanding the question correctly the answer is you must always be voting.

Once you vote on D1 though you don't get to change your D1 vote. You'll get another vote D2 though if that's what you meant by only having one vote (though that is a neat idea).

Lot of strategy here. Do you vote early and try to lead? Do you hang back and see what other people do?

The shot-clock is the driving force here though. You can only hang back so long before the shot-clock forces the action. That's it's main function actually (but as a nice side-benefit it also speeds up the game).

in reality wouldnt the union have a larger army and have a better position. so would the armies be close to eachothers strength? i dont know. i wouldnt advise any side to claim for awhile...

There are few, I believe, in this enlightened age, who will not acknowledge that slavery as an institution is a moral and political evil. It is idle to expatiate on its disadvantages. I think it is a greater evil to the white than to the colored race. While my feelings are strongly enlisted in behalf of the latter, my sympathies are more deeply engaged for the former. The blacks are immeasurably better off here than in Africa, morally, physically, and socially. The painful discipline they are undergoing is necessary for their further instruction as a race, and will prepare them, I hope, for better things. How long their servitude may be necessary is known and ordered by a merciful Providence. Their emancipation will sooner result from the mild and melting influences of Christianity than from the storm and tempest of fiery controversy. This influence, though slow, is sure. The doctrines and miracles of our Saviour have required nearly two thousand years to convert but a small portion of the human race, and even among Christian nations what gross errors still exist! While we see the course of the final abolition of human slavery is still onward, and give it the aid of our prayers, let us leave the progress as well as the results in the hands of Him who, chooses to work by slow influences, and with whom a thousand years are but as a single day.
