Claiming SK

I've heard that in a couple of games people have claimed SK weren't lynched by the town because of it. How is this possible?

Example:

5 players left -- 2 town, 2 mafia, 1 SK

Lynching the SK means the town loses the numbers game outright. In that situation, mafia MUST go down for the town to have a chance, and the remaining SK and mafia will be faced with a dilemma of whether to target each other and hope that the other kills a townie....whatever.

Bottom line is that there are times when it's better to pick apart a scum group rather than to go for the loner.

There's also the situation of 2 town, 2 mafia A, 1 mafia B.

See DP11: I almost pulled it off, and I was mafia A claiming mafia B. My stupidity in not reading some specifics correctly lost the game though. Grr... I still agonize over that one.

I claimed Mafia/Werewolf twice at jeepfest. Initial setup for both was 3 Mafia, 3 Werewolves, 4 Docs (the second time was a variation where the docs had a one shot kill). Both times my team got behind, and people turned toward me. First game ended in a draw with Mackay and I shooting each other, second was the infamous "herb is a doc!" game. I really ought to write that one up on the wiki sometime.

On the last day in Mini 211 both LML (falsely - he ewas mafia) and Fritzler (who was the SK) claimed SK. The town (with the help of LML's buddies) lynched Fritzler and thus handed the game to the mafia.

That was sad, although my fault, for claiming for there to be a day mechanism allowing me to switch sides.

I was mafia in a similar situation and was perceived to be a serial killer and not lynched for it. We lynched the real SK...fun way to win.

Hey, I've done that also (although that was in Mini 188 where all-in made lynching weird).
I replaced into Chess Mafia for 6 months, and all I got was a win and this lousy sig.
