I'm pretty sure our reasons are very similar (if not THE EXACT SAME) as kdowns' title.

People at least said Goddamnit on the forum though.

Outside of the TF thread the phrase except when he does has been said in relation to Pie exactly twice, it might be extremely popular in the scumhouse in NC but until it carries over to the forum it's not really falling under my jurisdiction.

I don't understand why it has to be said on the forums? It has staying power. I'd consider Umbrage & UN as a 5th and 6th, so can we get going with the title?

I disagree.

The title has gotten 5+ supporters and TBM has rejected it and explained why. Shouldn't that be the end of it?

There is no community accessibility or buy in for titles which are based on things which don't involve Mafiascum. It would be like me just giving titles to the people I know in scumchat based off our own inside jokes.

I would actually have no issue with that.

I think that's a dumb rule. Titles are handed out here less often than discussion bans, so I think it's limiting.

Titles don't have to be handed out more often than discussion bans. There's no quota Buttons has to meet.

I'm part of the MafiaScum community.
I don't understand ani's title. Why 95.7? Why is he "95.7 noise?"
I don't understand zoraster's title. Why is it so?

Sure, maybe if I went back and looked at the evidence for these titles being given, then of course I could understand. But you can make the same argument for "Except when he does." However, that is fresh and pertinent to a large part of the community: everyone who attended the reckoning and people who followed it and people who encounter pie in discussion.

Also so irrelevant but

Not being able to understand a title LATER is not the same as not being able to understand a title when it's being proposed/given. There's a natural element of decay, Buttons is just saying he doesn't want to encourage that.

um

"Except when he does" happened a year ago. I mean I haven't read the Reckoning II thread, so I don't know if it's being brought up again because of it, but I'm pretty sure if there was a crossword clue saying "(16 letter) Title proposed for InflatablePie" I would've got it, and vice versa.

Yes, it's only been nominated twice, but it's been discussed to death both times.

TBM, the Title Fairy, has said no. So shut up. It's not a good title.

Posted: Thu Jan 03, 2013 9:04 pm
by esuriospiritus
I feel like TBM is suggesting that the joke be beaten into the ground a la Goddammit (I still like the title, but yeah, we kind of overused that for a while to get it to be a title...) before it can become a title, which I'm pretty sure isn't what anyone wants...

It's obviously been "discussed to death" because there are people that still really like it a year later; I'm pretty sure there are titles that have been
actually
given out that that people would be just meh about a year later if it was being brought back into consideration. But whatevs. I really don't understand why titles are such serious business here in the first place and there are always going to be titles I think are a good idea that the various fairies don't agree with so /shrug

It was worth a shot.

(PS: Nexus, I understand you have your opinion, but you can state it without being a jerk about it.)
