Got two level 80s (Norn Guardian, Charr Ranger) that I run dungeons and FOTM with and working my way up again with an Asura Mesmer. On Blackgate, ID is already in the thread.

So esurio and I just got GW2, joined on Gates of Madness and rolled Sylvari (Guardian and Necro). I've been hyped for almost 3 years and this game is as good as I'd hoped so far.
InflatablePie.1893 is my username-thing, I don't remember esu's offhand.
If you don't know how to lie, then how do you know when you're being lied to?
No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible.
Grimm downloaded this yesterday and started playing again which meant I had to X_X
Also my high level necromancer was nekkid And then I logged into him and had NO FUCKING CLUE what I was doing and felt really scared and confused and also still had no gear, so I logged out and rolled an elementalist
Leveling in edge of the mists is pretty quick. You get a ton of gear too.
I started enjoying this game a ton more once I realized how much fun wvw is. Living story season 2 is pretty great too. Only other pve I'm touching is world bosses, but if you guys feel like dungeons id probably tag along. I'll find my tag when I'm home later.
My necro is lvl 51 and it's sorta overwhelming, though I read some shit and apparently necros are really bad? I dunno, but I currently have:
Lvl 51 Necro (confused as fk & nekkid)
Lvl 31? Warrior (ayyyy)
Lvl 19? Mesmer (I think it's a Mesmer anyway but fuck the Norn areas are so bad)
Lvl 14 Elementalist (loving it. this is my "leveling with Grimm" character)
I don't think I want to level more than two of these so it'll probably be Ele + Necro or Ele + Warrior...mostly because I'm probably going to do the level grind over again in a few months when the expansion hits so I can level a Revenant, so I don't wanna burn myself out
I reinstalled this recently and have been meaning to get back into it, but it's been so long since I've played that I'm not sure what I want to do.

I have three characters all around ~12ish, doing solely PvE to level.
Sylvari Guardian - pretty fun, I prefer Mace/Focus, Hammer or Greatsword personally. My "leveling with esurio" toon.
Asura Thief - dual daggers because nothing else is
that
fun.
Norn Engineer - second-favorite character, not sure if I like pistol/shield or rifle more.
Not really a big fan of Thief after pouring some levels in, but it's okay. Might either stick to just my Engi or try out a Necro/Mesmer (heard Necros are kinda weak in PvE but they were my main GW1 class =/) in addition to playing Guardian whenever esurio has time.

necros seem like they'd be good in groups for PvE but i just cannot figure mine out solo... it's gotten better now that I switched to dagger but it's still nothing compared to the other classes imo
I have an 80 Necro and I just love it. Maybe it's because I adored my necro in GW1, but I really enjoyed it in 2 as well. I didn't even do that much in groups.

I roll as da DD ele for wvw roaming and 2 handed staff with da zerging.
wvw da shit.
on piken(eu) as well. Transferred there for free but had to lvl it up to 80 again.
tried a few key runs but that shit is crazy expensive(still way way way cheaper than converting gold to gems tho) to do straight up. gonna need to cheapen it up and ill probably do more.

I played a bunch of thief, and honestly the combat itself is pretty bleh. Thief's strength comes from mobility, which unfortunately doesn't come into play all that much during solo play. Make sure your 2nd weapon set is always shortbow and you're set. Most of the other thief builds are about equal though. Any build with pistol main hand isn't terribly strong right now. P/P is pretty strong single target, but and dagger offhand stealth build will blow it out of the water.
If there's no direct endgame or tiered progression then what's the difference between exotic or super rare gear and normal gear? And if everyone scales up for PvP and normalizes the numbers why does gear matter at all since theres no endgame?

Aesthetics, mostly. Otherwise, it's dungeons/fractals. But aesthetics is the main one. You may not be able to get better statted gear, but you can sure as heck get better
looking
gear.

I have a sylvari necro (24), a norn mesmer (28) and a human engineer (13). I actually really like the human starting zone which surprised me because I was expecting it to be the most boring zone for the most boring race. But it's really not too bad. Or maybe engineer is enough fun to make up for it.
also OH MY GOD COOKING TAKES UP SO MUCH SPACE. I have it on my necro and my bags are super full right now because almost everything that's made is still an ingredient in other things but can't go in the materials thing. @_@
I maaaay have to buy bags. Or just level up another character for a while with a profession that can make bags.
Also also, my main MMO experience is WoW (also played a bit of SWTOR, Warhammer and some free MMO probably no one has ever heard of called Rappelz) so I apologize in advance if I mix up terminology. Apparently gw2 classes = professions and not what I think of as professions from WoW, but then I don't know what cooking, leatherworking, artificing, etc. are called...?
First you get your wings back. Then you learn to fly.
Sylvari Necros unite! *\o/* They're called "crafting disciplines" in this game. Have you discovered your bank yet? Also I can try sending you some bags.
