From what I've seen of the Admin Control Panel, it should be entirely possible to creat a rank that has both Mafia Scum and the image without screwing up any other titles.

Huh. Just tested on a PHP board, and yes, names can be duplicated when set as Special Ranks.

Nobody ever said we could not make the custom rank. Just that it is a relative lot of trouble for a non-issue.

No, I mean: Why can't you give Parama a custom rank with "Mafia Scum" and the Scummies image, but leave the other Scummies ranks intact?

Perfect. It sets up a precedent for the site bowing to every Prima Donna demand. Which is what we want, obviously.

Except that this wasn't the point of the original argument at all.
This obviously doesn't apply to you, but for those of us without titles, we essentially get one thrust upon us. Frankly, a title backing up what that relatively large image right under it says is slightly obnoxious.
Now I can understand if the devs don't want to change anything if it's too much work for them, but I don't see why others need to get all hissy about it.

If you're going to go down that path then it applies to every single person who's ever bitched about how their title didn't suit them in the history of this thread.
As said already not sure why this still matters considering devs have already given their two cents. No one came into the thread bitching about it. Not sure why it got blown up to this extent.

People have been bitching about their titles not suiting them? As I recall the recipient's veto power continues after it is granted and they can have it removed at any time.

Parama rejected a title and put the thread through hoops about it, so in my opinion, he shouldn't get special treatment now.
