it fills up pipes, pipes fill up tanks, tanks fill up Engines, Engines fill up RSECells and everything shuts down - rinse and repeat

we just use a lot of power for ME, which is why I built two cozy Factorization Solar Boiler setups on top of two of our towers
they should work fine until I get the ME Storage mostly external

Rhinox, I know it seems to be the default, or at least one of the earlier power methods, on our server but Lava->Magmatic Engines setups seem to be the least onerous to get started.

Granted, to get access to large amounts of lava, a trip to the Nether is needed and you will occasionally have to go there and move your pump. However, the resource requirements per engine aren't that great. The only specialty resource you will really need for mags are Ferrous Metal and yes, it does require a deep mine to get a substantial amount of it. BUT 1 Ferrous Ingot converts to 3 Invar Ingots (once the Iron is added) so you don't need a huge amount of the stuff. A single Magmatic engine need 11 Invar Ingots to make which works out to 3 and 2/3rds (I know, you can't get a fractional Ingot) Ferrous Ingots per Engine or if you want to keep the numbers even, 3 Magmatic Engines can be made with 11 Ferrous Ingots to start.

Magmatic Engines don't explode they just stop working if they overheat and even that can be prevented by making sure they are only hooked into machines and such using Redstone Energy Conduits. Unless there is something in the updates that have changed it, it seems that the Conduits will absorb just enough energy, even if there is no power draw off the conduit, to keep the Mag from overheating.

At 4 MJ/t, to get the 100 MJ/t you threw out from above, that is 25 engines (it will actually take a bit more when you count energy loss but that is a different discussion) and since you don't (can't really) add cooling to the things, those engines can be set up in a space smaller than you might you might think.

But yeah, it is not maintenance free. I'd call it low maintenance and dead easy to set up on an auto on/off system since you only have the lava fuel pipes to deal with rather than <whatever> fuel pipes and cooling pipes you have the potential to have with other types of engines.

HELP! I've been away for a week (lying in the sun on a beach in Mallorca!) and everything's changed. We now seem to be on MafiaCraft v.1.1.1 but when I try to connect I get a whole load of mismatched IDs. What am I doing wrong?

(sorry if this has already been answered a hundred times, but I had a quick look back over the posts and couldn't find anything relevant.)

The Admins are already working on a v1.1.2 patch to the following issue (which occurred even AFTER extensive testing), but to preempt further FTBlessness and to help you guys get on server faster, we're providing the following fix(es): Traincraft has been deleted. MANY Block ID's were changed as of the last update to several Mods, including Traincraft, and because of the way its worldgen works with ExtraBiomes XL, and because of several changes to default config settings assigned by Forge, the alternative to eliminating Traincraft from the server was either a perfect world restarted from scratch, or a permanently fucked up world (including but not limited to, no more Traincraft Petroleum or Copper - except in Red Rock biomes where it replaces every single visible block except Stone, and the loss of every single Ropes+ Rope currently in the world). Don't worry - it'll stay in the pack though. For those of you who love Traincraft, feel free to use the provided default config file, you just won't see it on-server ever again.

Something weird going on with the FTB server. Didn't it used to restart every so often? I haven't seen it do that since we reset.

The problem I'm having (and Oso now too) is our Tinkers Construct smelteries wont activate, despite being configured correctly. Can an admin get online and help? I've googled and cannot find the answer.

Rhinox said there were other weird things too but I don't remember what he said.

because Klaz's server is MUCH more stable than mine was when i ran it, when I set up the auto-restart function, I felt it was much less prudent to be automatically reset every 3 hours. So now it's only set to restart-if-empty something like every 2-4 hours.

Now that there is considerable presence on the Vanilla server, i find it is safe enough to make an announcement.

About a week or so after the file problem with the vanilla server, Corin chanced upon a twin file system of the multicraft where every missing multicraft file was stored, but the multicraft interface was reading from the empty ghost-folder system. He let me know, and told me he could have the repaired vanilla server back up to within 24 hours restore point of where it was at the point it went down, in under an hour's work.

As most of the community had not expressed to many dislikes at the missing vanilla world, and expressed a genuine want to update to Beta builds, as well as having already told the server owner, and been told he was fine with it and wanted to update to beta builds, I decided to not tell anyone I found the old server, and let you guys continue with your plans towards the new.

HOWEVER, I DID ask Corin to make a few backups of the world file as it was within hours of the vanilla server's death, and upload them to multiple locations ,where they would be safe so I could get to them in the future.

SO, if anyone ever wants a nearly-current up-to-date copy of the old Vanilla server map, I have the map (and just the map, not playerfiles, so you may not be where your house actually is) available somewhere, and will get a download link set up shortly.

HOWEVER, I currently do NOT have access to it, due to Corin's MIA status. as soon as his internet comes back, I'll get the info and toss a copy up on google docs for you guys.


@ETL thats the same issue me and oso had until we moved FTB to the US node.
