I just finished work on a pretty huge maze... I think it's something like ~4000 blocks? I ended up blocking myself in while finishing it and it took me 25 minutes to find my way out. Lol. I'm going to finish the roofing/cosmetics/victory room tomorrow...
@MODS: Any way we can get some sort of prizes put in chests at the end of the maze?
That's what we did on the old server and it was really great

I wont be home until late and have tons of homework but I'm sure UT will be around/able to help with prize placement. I do definitely want to try it out this weekend sometime though. Sounds awesome
This ETL btw...
You're my friends now. We're having soft tacos later!
The new version has made many of the blocks that were prizes in the previous server obtainable legally. Here are a few ideas of simple, but repeatable/consumable prizes:
- 16 or 32 Cobwebs (still not obtainable)
- 1 or 2 Villager Spawn eggs?
- XP pots (XP is easy to get now, mostly convenience)
- Player heads (it would be cool to get the head of the maze maker as a prize, lol)
Also, I'm still looking for someone with a full enchanting setup (or a bunch of cows that I can borrow to make my own)
BTW, now that we have command blocks and score, it is possible to make rewarding at the end of a maze automatic, without having to populate a "loot" chest - maybe it is even possible to reward each player only once per maze (I can try to look at this during the weekend)

Incorrect- cowebbies can be gotten with silk touch shears (enchant book then anvil with shear)

I'm pretty sure you can get cobwebs in the game now.
Same for XP pots.
Villager eggs and playerheads would be nice though.
It'd be cool to have it themed based off what the maze entails, maybe... and consequently try to theme each maze at least slightly differently? I dunno, that'd be the most appealing to me as a player. The command block thing is definitely possible, Claus. I can look into it in SSP if ETL wants.
If you are familiar with that stuff and want, yeah feel free. I don't know anything about command blocks but I love the idea of teams and automating prizes and stuff.

Teams? What? It'd probably just involve setting a scoreboard per maze, so that once somebody completes a maze their score is set to a binary value and that only people who have not been set to the value are given the prize(s) on completion. With the ID overhaul setting up the actual prize-giving is even simpler, but it would've just been a number look-up, nothing complicated.
