So I just fell into a giant lava ocean in the nether. I logged out the moment I hit the surface, after taking one tick of lava damage. I don't know how deep it is. Anyone got an amazing idea on how to survive?

I'd imagine that if one were to block up the lava ocean, you'd be able to take the damage on you right now and be safe.
Your coordinates might help one in being able to find you.

The coordinates to your portal would help one in doing this as well. Then one would need to have gravel and another block so as to not suffocate you. One would have to leave a gravel area one block lower than the lava so you log in, take the damage, then finish falling and don't glitch into any blocks and die anyway.

EDIT: Lol, ETL. I've been using Coterie since before you were on the server, somewhere around soon after I joined. I can go find the post where Xalxe posted screenshots if you like, I've been using it pretty much consistently since then.
Also, izak, I'm assuming this ominous chat message I saw in the console log are your coords in the Nether?

Should just be able to fill the lava with a gravel pile in at the coordinates you fell in at. When you log back in, you'd spawn on top of the gravel pile, not in the lava or inside the gravel suffocating anyways. Its the same concept as what we used to do to glitch on to the top of the nether. You
might
still be on fire when you log in tho - not sure if being on fire when you log out is remembered the next time you log back in. But other than that, you'd be fine.
Important is to completely fill in the lava at your coord, not just build a platform above it. You'll never spawn "inside" a block. If someone has filled in where you logged out at, you'll always spawn at the next available open space above where you logged out.

Nah, that's the coords for the tunnel to the portal I was going to go back to. I could find the way to where I fell from there though - I could get my brother to hop on if you could whitelist him (samyelll)?

It's probably a good idea to have a second OP on the Unleashed server. This person would not be an admin, persay, but they would be responsible for helping players as applicable. Hopefully, that will rarely happen. If this is something anyone is interested in, please PM me. If no one PMs me, I will
hold the server hostage until M agrees to stay on in the position

just go it alone, not a big deal.
I'll do it if you need me to, but I was kinda liking not having Op for a change + Unleashed crashes me before I can play for an hour on lowest settings + Blake thinks I'm a dick = maybe I'm not the best choice.

Not me.
I want to return to being a player. I do not enjoy the duties of any role of authority, and being an op kind of tarnishes the gameplay experience for me.
I'm sure that there's somebody here who can step up for that role.
There are already several people who have volunteered, Klaz/M, so don't worry about it - I wouldn't have wanted either of you as OP anyway because I know you both don't really want the position this time around.
In other news, I think it's best that (despite promises for bleeding-edge updates) we not update to any of the snapshots coming out in the lead-up to 1.7. They've been horrendously buggy thus far, with the major issues focused around moving pre-1.7ish worlds into the new 1.7ish worldgen - which is exactly what we'd be doing with our server. I'm well aware of all the things we'll have to think about before 1.7, including 1.6.3's imminent release to assist with the switchover and hopefully correct some of the rampant issues.
At this time I'm mainly focusing on deciding whether we update right with 1.7 or whether we're going to wait for the 1.7.1/1.7.2 that're most likely going to be released shortly thereafter, similarly to what occurred in 1.5 and 1.6. Since some people are more focused on RobCraft at this point, I'm hoping this won't be a huge point of contension, but even if it is, here: a consolation prize/bribe is in order.
Have fun with that till we update Vanilla - and rest assured I'm still keeping an eye on CraftIRC and ForgeIRC. I'll look into those as soon as they become viable options.
I'm the jerk making the swamp west of spawn ugly on the map, haha.
Are those NPC villages NE of spawn?

Using CoterieCraft, and perched on my lighthouse because it was the only way to make the whole thing visible. Builds of mine that are not visible are the bay and desert houses and, obviously, said lighthouse.
