I just wanted to chime in, since I followed this game, or as much as you can when a game is marathon.

What is wrong with you people.

I would like to point out by the way that this game shows that the site-meta of "Let's discuss everything really slowly and analyze EVERYTHING" is not necessarily the successful strat ;)
Note: Weekends are my busiest time. Expect me to not post much from Friday to Sunday.

Do not expect me to play to a meta.

I hate slow games. They tend to be town losses.

Agreed. However, most people don't like my belief in the opposite :P

There's definitely such a thing as TOO fast, though. Too much noise makes the signal hard to detect, and when people get ninjaed 17 times, it's demoralizing.

Was more demoralizing for the scum . . . and an effect of the Town's approach . . .

It's like the article I read about Oregon's speed-run offense, where the defense would get too tired to keep up. When the Town's controlling the tempo, that's a good thing, and that usually means as fast as the game can reasonably support. In this case the game couldn't have supported that properly for an extended period of time, probably, but the instinct and the approach is, I think, fundamentally correct for Towns in general and the specific application as it happened in this game is not far from ideal. I'm granting that some Town advantages (3 Mason-type roles, Parama and Reck latching on to scum so accurately so early) are not to be counted on as a rule, so.

Yeah, I'm not sure I would take this approach as indicative of much except postaphilia (more after a certain game is over).
