The BaM Ruleset , Slightly Modified:
1.) Votes must be bolded and at the start of a line. If we don't see it, we wont count it. If we think it's a vote, it will count as a vote, and vice versa. VOTE: Using the spiffy new voting code tags is advised!
2.)
Unvoting
is nice, but not necessary.
3.) Once a majority is reached, that person is lynched.
4.) If there is no majority at deadline, there will be no lynch for that day.
5.) Day 1 will have an approximated deadline based on when the game starts; it will be no less than 10 days. All following days will have a deadline of 10 days.
6.) Nights will have a deadline of 48 hours maximum. Any night actions not submitted will simply not happen. The thread should be open 48 hours following a deadline lynch.
7.) Do not talk about this game outside the thread unless your role allows you to, and in such cases
only
in the manner explicitly allowed by your role.
8.) When you die, you are dead. Stay that way.
9.) Do not edit posts. Do not use invisible text. Do not use small text. Do not try to fool around with the exact requirements of this rule: anything outside the spirit of this rule is prohibited.
10.) Do not quote any communication from the mod (that includes PMs) in the game thread.
11.) If you are going to be gone for an extended period of time, please let me know. See rule 12.
12.) If you do not post for a full deadline game day you will be modkilled. Further, you will be blacklisted from any future games using the BaM ruleset. Keep in mind that there are no replacements for flakers in a BaM ruleset game.
Special Note:
I will accept as many potential replacements as sign up prior to the beginning of the game. If you must replace out of the game, please ask one to take your place in the game, or attempt to find your own replacement. I will attempt to replace players who request replacement properly.
13.) If you notice mistakes aside from the vote count, PM me. Bold notification about vote count issues in the thread.
14.) Play to win.
15.) Play with the spirit of the game in mind.
15.a.) This means ASK before you do something you think I might question. Questions are good. Modkills are bad. See rule 12.
16.) Have fun. Remember that everyone playing are actually real people and treat them as such.
I, Bilbo Baggins, have been tasked by Lord Elrond of Rivendell to record the events surrounding the Council of Elrond. Emissaries from the free peoples of Middle-Earth have converged here in Rivendell to discuss their doom.
The One Ring has been found. Isilduir’s Bane has spent the past five decades sitting in my own pocket! Who could have known that the ring I found in Gollum’s cave was The One Ring, worn by the Dark Lord Sauron himself? And now my adopted nephew, Frodo, bears this burden! That’s a horrible spot of luck.
I digress. The situation here in Imladris has deteriorated. The Sons of Elrond, Elladan and Elrohir, were found dead this morning outside the gates of Imladris. They had been hacked to pieces. Frodo awoke yester-day, recovered from the near-lethal wound he received on Weathertop. Many have come for counsel in this dark hour. Some who have been summoned have not yet arrived. My heart tells me that they will never arrive.

Looking up from my book,
There and Back Again, a Hobbit's Tale by Bilbo Baggins
, I see people trickling into the meeting room, yet none of the faces I see are familiar. Everyone who is to attend the council will take measures to protect their true identities, to avoid being singled out and killed by The Enemy.
After all twenty-five seats had filled I stood up and spoke, reading from a script that Elrond sent to my room this morning. “Strangers from distant lands, friends of old. You have been summoned here to answer the threat of Mordor. Middle-Earth stands on the brink of destruction. None can escape it. You will unite or you will fall.” Twenty-five people exchanged glances and wondered who among them bore evil in their hearts. I continued. “Each race is bound to this one fate- this one doom.” There was some hushed conversation, and a shudder ran down my back as if a Morgul Blade was being rubbed against my spine.
I looked up and folded the script in half. “Elladan and Elrohir were murdered last night.” I paced in front of my seat for a moment, as the audience took the information to heart. “Lord Elrond has told me to permit
one
lynching a day, to prevent us from devolving into a mindless mob of Kin-Slayers.” There were some who nodded gravely, as they remembered the horrors committed in the name of the Silmarils many thousands of years ago.
“The doom of Middle-Earth shall be decided here, by you all.” I smiled, and sat down. “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, besides the will of evil. I was meant to find the Ring, in which case Frodo was also meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought.”
I thumbed through the pages of my book, before starting a new chapter.
The Council of Elrond
But sadly, I fear in my heart, that this chapter shall be written with blood...
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
It is now the First Day. With 25 gathered, 13 votes cast will decide a lynch. There is a provisional deadline of Saturday October 9th although this is subject to change.
One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
, and a couple of the other Tolkien books as well as seen the films. I've also presented a paper about Galadriel at an academic conference, for what it's worth.
Vote: Zwet.
Re: Castlevania, the vote I never got to cast.

While we gather our thoughts, would it be generally appreciated if we as separate heads posted a small pseudo-sig on the end of our posts? This isn't meant to be a secret hydra, so just curious.
I've read the trilogy a couple times, as well as The Hobbit. Tried reading Silmarillion, but didn't finish. Read a couple of the Lost Tales. Movies are awesome, despite the casting of Liv Tyler. I <3 Eomer.
VOTE: Glork Hi Glork!

Whoever thinks grammar is not important, think again. Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.
I have seen a bit of a movie in The Lord of the Rings trilogy (Can't remember which movie it was) and I just started to read the books earlier this week, starting with
1) Books by far. I like Tolkien's writing style
2) Fellowship of the Ring. I like the character interaction
3) Two Towers. Mostly because I also played the game alongside it and the Helm's Deep battle was easily one of my favorite battles in a video game.
4) I like Gollum.
Right now, I'll say the books, but that is subjected to change.

Right now, it's
The Fellowship of the Ring
since it's the only book out of the trilogy that I read. That may change once I finish reading that and read the other novels.
Wraith wrote:3. Favorite Movie?
I did see one of the movies but I can't remember which one it is. Given that I saw one of the movies during the summer of 2003,
The Return of the King
is not one of them. So I don't really know, although I do plan on seeing the first movie after finishing up the novel that I'm reading (It'll probably be on Youtube since my family doesn't have the money to buy movies).
Wraith wrote:4. Favorite Character(s)?
In the less then 100 pages I've read from
The Fellowship of the Ring
, right now I have to say Frodo Baggins. I like people who are adventurous and are willing to help out. The inter conflict with him and his ring is also interesting to look at and it help shows that the Ring is capable of corrupting anyone.
Forgot to post in the hydra. Anyway, the quote below is the same as #20.

1. Books or Movies?
Books. The movies lack the immersion available in the books.
2. Favorite Book?
I haven't exactly finished the books yet, so I can't comment.
3. Favorite Movie?
Two Towers. Helm's deep was epic. Easily one of the best directed war scenes of all time. I really liked how fluid the underlying emotions were, from "We are brave motherfuckers defending a fucking castle FUCK YEAH" --> "OH SHIT, THIS IS HOPELESS. OMG WE'RE LOSING." ---> "OHH SWEET JESUS A RAY OF HOPE! GOO GANDALFF~".
4. Favorite Character(s)?
Book-Frodo. I hated how he much Elijah Wood depicted Movie-Frodo as a cowardly sissy. >.>. Book-Frodo is leagues better than Movie-Frodo.
Call me Vas, ;D
