Mini 1019: Yep, It’s the Mafia Again!

Some amount of time ago, greater than a year but no more specific than that, the mafia invaded a small village in the middle of somewhere, but nobody knows quite where this place is, and it’s irrelevant anyways, since the important part is that the mafia invaded. And back then the town had managed to drive the mafia out within a matter of days.

And then some amount of time after that, the mafia invaded AGAIN, and were driven out AGAIN. Yet they returned a 3rd time, and then a 4th, and they never seemed to stop returning. And every time they were driven out. You’d think they’d learn after so many tries, wouldn’t you?

But let’s skip to the present. One day, a man was taking an early morning stroll when he saw another man lying dead on the ground in the town square. And there he found a paper that said, “We killed these two guys, and we’re going to kill the rest of you soon enough. –The Mafia.” The man mumbled to himself, “Two? I see only one dead bo-“ but he was cut short as a bullet tore through his chest and into his heart, killing him immediately.

The next morning, the remaining members of the town arose and were all drawn to the scene of the murders, where they found the same note that the unfortunate man had found earlier. This time nobody questioned the number of bodies lying in the center of their village, but they all knew what had happened: The mafia had invaded their town for the Nth time, and the village expected to get rid of the problem yet again – but, even though history repeats itself, the future is still subject to change, right? Who knows – maybe the mafia have finally figured out how to bring down this nameless town?!?!

Rules To Not Break:

1. Mafia is a game. Please try to have fun while playing it. Blatant personal attacks on other players will result in modkill, auto-loss, and being blacklisted from my future games.
2. You have been given a win condition and it is your job to try and fulfill it. If you deliberately play against your win condition and deliberately hurt your faction with your play, don’t be shocked to find yourself modkilled, auto-lossed, and blacklisted from of my future games.
3. Do not quote your role PM. Do not quote from any mod-provided private QT. Both these will result in modkill and auto-loss.
4. Talking about the game outside the thread or any mod-provided QT is forbidden. Unless the offense is incredibly minor (i.e. brief mention of the game without discussing any of its content), this will result in a modkill and auto-loss.
5. If you have the ability to edit or delete your posts, do not do so. Unless the offense is incredibly minor (i.e. fixing spelling or grammar without modifying the original content of the post), this will result in a modkill and auto-loss.
6. Unreadable text is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to incredibly small text and invisible text.
7. Dead players may not speak in the thread once they are dead. Not even a simple “Bah” post. I’ve never heard a dead body say “Bah” before.

11. A lynch occurs when a majority is reached. For an odd number of players, this is (n+1)/2. For an even number of players, this is (n/2)+1. For example, Day 1 will have 12 players alive, and (12/2)+1 = 7 votes to lynch.
12. After a lynch occurs, there will be a 24 hour twilight. During this time everybody but the lynchee will be able to talk. At the end of twilight, the lynchee’s role will be revealed and the game will proceed into night.

Note:

A deadline No Lynch will caught the game to skip twilight and proceed directly into night.
12. Day 1 will last 3 weeks. All future days will last 2 weeks. All nights will last 72 hours.
13. If no player reaches a majority of votes by the deadline on a given day, No Lynch will occur.
14. If a player does not submit a night action by the end of any given night, they will not act that night.

Rules Of Activity And Prods:

15. If a player goes 48 hours without posting in-thread, they will be prodded. If they do not post in-thread within 48 hours following a prod, they will be replaced.
16. Please let your mod know if you will be on V/LA – post it in-thread and bolded or PM it directly to me. If a player hasn’t directly told me they will be on V/LA I will not acknowledge it and probably won’t even know about it.
17. If I have to prod any player more than twice per day, they will be automatically replaced.
18. Players may request a prod on another player in the following format:

. This is only to be done if a player has gone without posting for 48 hours and I have missed prodding them.
19. If there are less than 10 posts in-thread within a 48 hour period I will send out a massprod. If overall activity continues to be a problem, I reserve the right to shorten day deadlines.

I can tell divulge why I'm a mafiascum player who jmurph wants locked up. In that game, I was constantly multiposting so much--which included me doing some anti-town stuff hastily without thinking--that there was a suggestion of a DESIRE for a policy lynch, but the suggestion was only one of DESIRE because it was LyLo. Everybody complained.

TL: You seem very defensive with a simple question on your vote. I personally never played with diddin and when suggesting a policy lynch on a player I would too like to know what diddin does that requires him as policy.
