Question about the Open I'm in (232)?

Will the game start as two separate games or one game of 18 players? And if it's the 18, I'm assuming it will be 2 mafia factions?

No the game is one game. The set up is put into 2 groups and then placed into one game.

* 1 Mafia goon, 1 Mafia roleblocker, 1 cop, 1 doctor, 5 vanilla townies
* 2 Mafia goons, 1 cop, 6 vanilla townies
* 2 Mafia goons, 1 doctor, 6 vanilla townies
* 1 Mafia goon, 1 Mafia roleblocker, 7 vanilla townies

* 1 Mafia goon, 1 Mafia ninja, 1 tracker, 1 watcher, 5 vanilla townies
* 2 Mafia goons, 1 tracker, 6 vanilla townies

Note: Split the 18-player game in two and independently generate each half. Half 1 is the standard F11; half 2 replaces the cop, doc, and roleblocker with a tracker, watcher, and ninja respectively. Then combine them back together.

You know, it just occurred to me that with 18 players and only 1 killing faction, this ninja game could take a while to finish.

So after some discussion with the creator of the game the mafia group is one group. Papa I will leave it up to you how best you want to handle the ninja in the game. I don't know if you want the ninja only able to kill every other night or handicap the role so the other roles catch something is up to you.

Yeah, like Troll said when Troll signed up for it the game as it seems to be intended seems to favor the mafia by quite a bit. Making it two mafia teams would change that (though Troll's instincts for balance with multiple mafia factions be weaker.) Troll no follows the open setup review thread (if it still be about) so Troll no be sure how much went into the OKing of this game for playing. Mind you, Troll will still play anyhow but Troll expects the mafia will win the game based on the setup before even getting a role PM.
