Hmmm. Lets try this again Ythan.

We had one VI at the start of the game. He was townie, quite obviously, but he was still there. If we had lynched him...

We still would of had to deal with a VI that later replaced into the game.

Town really only has one mislynch in the setup, and we had two people that were incooperative. One replaced in into a lylo situation, self voted himself, and we were screwed.

Point being...You should be able to vote to replace someone. As a jury-like majority along with mod's discretion.

I wouldn't allow this in a normal game. I didn't check to see whether the game was normal, but regardless, this is experimental and would change the game more than in dealing with VI's.

Uh Sniper looks like a troll more than a VI although sometimes it's hard to spot the difference.

I reported him as a troll :( it didn't get him replaced because he wasn't troll-like enough.

As a mod I have a k-9 rule. That prohibit's what I call crap posting.
IE: posting enough to not be replaced while posting nothing that says anything at all. I give the person a post restriction in which if they dont' follow they are mod killed. I then take the next step of modkilling them for ruining the game.

If I see a player like that in game typically I will just lynch their ass if they don't get board and leave like many typically do
Sarcasm is just a way of saying how stupid you think someone is but in a more polite way.

I don't believe that attempting to modify playstyles is good modding even if you find someone to be a bad influence in your game.

It would be nice if there could be some way to solve this in the future. Unfortunately there are significant issues with everything I can think of. Vote replacement cannot be used, because it could be easily abused by the players. Even players that are only slightly VI would end up getting vote replaced. To prevent this the Mod would have to take an even deeper influence on the game. Mod replacement cannot be used, because a scum VI is acting straight towards their win condition. Replacement would confirm the player as town, and lack of replacement would confirm them as scum. No dice. The only option available is Mod nagging, if that is your kind of thing.

Then probably this site, with its open membership, shouldn't build setups that allow only one mislynch?

Well it was the 2:2:9 open setup which has been ran in the past. I think its a moderately balanced setup ~40-30-30 for town, scum A, scum B. What killed town mostly was scum never cross killing and only doubling up kills once.

To be honest though as scum in that game, VI #1 was obviously town, only voted him at a point where his lynch helped me more than having him alive to mess with the town. VI #2 I had as probably town untill other scum pulled a bus that left #2 as the only logical choice as scum.

I don't think there should be an option of voting to replace, but the mod should be listening to the player's requests. If the players are saying he needs to be replaced, REPLACE HIM!

Otherwise known as: It's also the mod's duty to keep (the majority of) the players happy, so they don't replace out due to frustration.

I wouldnt say he was obviously town. Many suspected him of scum A based off of Nik's play, considering he had none of his own for us to read.

I guess being scum A helped me know he wasnt A, but at the same time I really did have him as obviously town when he was getting wagoned early one. Tend to be better with town reads than scum ones though (as that game proved)
