Mini 950: Drum Corps International Mafia

It's August in Indiana, time for the Drum Corps International World Championships: three days to see the best drum corps in the world compete to see who has this year's best show.

However, all is not well. Less than a week before the World Class quarterfinals were scheduled to start, administrative officials discovered some troubling documents indicating collusion between some of the corps and the officiating crew. The papers suggested that the corps in question wanted to ensure that only a select few could win world championships. Representatives from twelve of the corps were brought into a conference room at the Marriott Indianapolis hotel, given codenames, and shown a map of which room each was sleeping in.

"The corps who want to take over are in here, I can guarantee you," said one of the administrators. "And you might want to find them and kick them out sooner rather than later: we have reason to believe they might take... extreme... measures to achieve their goal."

With no further words, the administrators left.

Rules:

1. This is a game. Play to win, but also to have fun.
2. Votes must be in

2a. You may, if you so choose, vote by proxy.
3. Vote counts will be as close to the top of the page as I can put them.
4. I may be God, but I am not infallible. If I make a mistake, please tell me.
5. While the game is going on, do not discuss it except when and where I specifically allow you to.
5a. I post QuickTopics after the game. Take that into account when deciding what to write in one.
6. Similarly, do not quote private mod-player communications. You may paraphrase, though. If you're not sure if it crosses the line, run it by me.
7. Days will be deadlined at two weeks. Except for replacements, these are non-negotiable. At deadline, half of a majority will be required to lynch.

There will be no reduced number of votes when there are 7 or fewer players.

8. V/LA: If it's in-thread, I'll see it. If it's in your sig, I'll see it. If you send me a PM, I'll see it, and I'll post it in-thread. If it's in the V/LA thread, I'll probably miss it.

If I don't know about it, it’s your fault.

If it’s too long, I'll ask for you to find your own replacement. (You may talk with your replacement before you have to leave.)
9. Prods will go out after 48 hours without a post (unless the player is on V/LA). The proddee will then have 48 hours to post in thread or they will be replaced. If you post before I get around to handing out the prod, you avoid the prod; similarly, if you return before I find a replacement, you can stay in the game. Prod #3 will equal replacement.
10. If enough players are voting for No Lynch to make any other majority impossible, the day will end in No Lynch.
11. When a lynch is reached, the game will enter twilight until I come to lock the thread.

All players alive during that day may talk during twilight,

but don't expect it to be particularly long.
12. Nights will last approximately 48 hours.
13. If you die, stop posting until after the game is over. You are allowed one "bah" post provided it contains no game-related content (something like "Go town!" is acceptable; something like "My tracking results were X and Y" is not).
14. If, for whatever reason, I decide to edit your post, it will be in

blue bold

. Don’t use that style.
15. Anything that would be illegal to actually do is also illegal to fake.
16. If I find that I've left something off, or that something needs clarification, I reserve the right to update these rules. I will tell you if/when that happens.

1. 6 or 7 games here, a crapton of EM games.
2. I lurk a lot more as scum, but sometimes my real life gets in the way too. So far my scum:town ratio has been really low, the only game I've been mafia in is Jekyll Mafia in the mini them games so feel free to check it out.
3. Since my playstyle is still developing, my meta is still changing. I don't have a set town meta.
4. It depends on who quicklynched them and what my read on them was. No two situations are necessarily the same. In general though, the quickhammer-er would fall under heavy suspicion of me and receive a Slaxx-interrogation the next day =).
5. Same. It could be a buss. Its just as suspicious IMO.
6. Reread and look for connections, of course. And bring them up and present them and judge reactions.

1. How much experience do you have playing mafia? Please include any off site forums which you play to.
   I've played a few games here, two games on Scorehero (with Parama and Navy), and many games on EpicMafia.com, which is a chat based mafia site.
   
   
2. What would you say is your scum meta is?
   Well, according to Stars Aligned II, it's to be lynched D1 . But to answer the question about as well as I can, I think at EpicMafia I am much more sure of myself and my reads as scum than as town (I know this is obvious, but I'm talking about from an observer's standpoint), and I try to drive mislynches by using "scumslips"
   
   
3. What would you say your town meta is?
   Not too good. As I've gotten more experienced, people seem to find me inherently more scummy (which I really don't understand, but whatever). Also, I find it very hard to trust other players as town, because I can't get past the idea that they're scum slipping under my radar.
   
   
4. Someone just got quicklynched, and is town. What do you do?
   This question is too vague for me to answer accurately, but I'll try. If there was a really good reason they were quicklynched (they were caught in a lie, deadline was approaching and there was solid evidence, whatever) I wouldn't really worry about it. In most cases, though, I would look at the wagon and how it built, both the people who got on with little or no reasoning and those that jumped on at the end.
   
   
5. Same situation, but quicklynched is scum.
   It's hard for me to see this occuring barring a cop guilty or something like that, but I would definitely think that the mafia's scumbuddy(es) were on his wagon, and look closely to see if any of my scumreads matched up with the wagoners. I would also look at the end of the wagon, especially if by quicklynching conversation was cut off.

   Berate myself for only having one scum read at lylo, because honestly this situation should never happen. Then I'd go back, look at wagons and voting patterns, and find a new #1

Haha, yeah I guess so, but I wasn't trying at all in that game so it didn't really matter as much to me. Parama basically just called me scum in his 2nd post of the game, sat on his vote all day, then got the town to sheep me at the end of the day when a policy lynch that I was leading fizzled out (it was on a SK btw). I was pretty bitter about that one.

But yeah, that's what I mean about people thinking I'm inherently scummy. I've been ml-ed twice on d1 in the last two games I've played .

I've been playing on MS for almost a year (on April 24th). Numerous games here.

My introduction to mafia was on the View Askew message board (director Kevin Smith's site) around February of last year. I've also played numerous games there. Although, their way of playing is a lot more fast paced. One real day = One game day.

What would you say is your scum meta is?

I do lurk a lot more as scum, but I do have my times when life just gets hectic and I'm just barely here. I try to make my read the same over all.

What would you say your town meta is?

Scummy. I've been lynched more times on Day 1 as a VT than I ever have as scum. I haven't updated my Wiki for a couple weeks, but you can see this there as well.

I'm also the queen of endlessly drawing VT roles.

   I started playing on ConquerClub.com, which is essentially a risk site w/ a forumn. I lost my password and came here. Then I found EM.com and startedplaying there, although I dissapear from that site randomly
   
   
2. What would you say is your scum meta is?
   IDK, I haven't played as scum in SOOOO LONG. Honestly, I draw lines of pro-town and lines of pro-scum roles, but I'm guessing it's similar to mytown meta.

   I lurk more as town than as scum, and lurk untill I've either been prodded, or find something helpful.
