I can understand the issue, and even thought on how to make it work in forum. How about I randomly select from any one that submits in the first 24 hours; if you submit in the second 24, you don't have a chance.
If the issue with the speed bonus is that it rewards luck, wouldn't a random bonus be even worse?

Yes. It would. Someone could be online at the exact time the acronym gets posted and think for 24 hours straight and come up with some aMaZiNg just before the first 24 hours expires. Just keep the original rule imo.
fake edit: just make it a bonus which only applies if the player wins. So they need to get the largest number of votes and also have submitted first.

The Clown is Town. The Clown also uses "they" pronouns. Don't be a dick about it?
I know it's weird given the username, but "horrorperson" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

That would be okay. The only way to lose points is to submit an acro and not vote.
I see nothing wrong with luck,I think you should keep it the way it is but change 2 points to 1 point that way someone can't win just by being fast.

That won't happen. Each person that wins a round will get AT LEAST 4 points, and probably much more with the number of players (at least 7 or 8).
I won't get rid of the points, nor will I lower it. I have two options on the table:
1. Keep it as is.
2. Pick a random person that submits in the first 24 hours AND receives a vote.
The two points are to award someone that not only comes up with a quick acro, but comes up with one that someone else finds the best. It's not always the first acro that wins the points; in fact, I've seen an acro in a 12-person game that was submitted LAST get ALL of the votes.
If we go with option #2, and none of the entries that were given in the first 24 hours gets a vote, no one will receive the speed bonus. If we go with option #1, it will be the first entry that receives a vote.
With that said, I will take a vote of everyone that /ins. This vote will be run during the first round. Whichever option gets the majority of votes will become the rule and will go into effect for the first round.

How about this for an idea: Whoever has the MOST votes in 24 hours gets the bonus. If it is a tie, the players who have the most votes get a single point each.
3 hours left to /in. 18 players so far. With 2 more, we'll reach the "50 points to win" line.

"The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all." --John F. Kennedy
How about one/two points for each time a player votes within the first 24 hours? Each player receives this one/two points, so long as they vote in that first 24 hours.
Waiting on players to submit acros. Please submit by PM only. Any acros submitted in chat will not be accepted.
You have until

to respond.

I should have been specific. PM your vote, please, using either #1 or #2. Calling it "Fastest" is ambiguous -- either will be listed as "Fastest."

Are resubmissions allowed within the deadline, possibly to the detriment of any speed bonuses?

I hope not are I will be thinking of 10 different things and changing my mind more times then not.
Usually if you play online you get one shot and I think that is how this game should be played.
Sarcasm is just a way of saying how stupid you think someone is but in a more polite way.

Resubmissions are allowed, but it resets your submission time.
Call for Vote:
I received a submission with an /in -- it's a player that didn't /in before the deadline. Do we allow it? If there isn't a big outlash against it, I'll allow it -- the person has no advantage.

I don't see why not. But I would say no one else should be in after the first round submissions.
