RULES OF PLAY

Game Setup

1. Players join by
/in
. After 48 hours of joining, the Moderator will randomly select 6 players.

How to Play

On your turn, select a die to move using the grid letters and numbers. You may move the die one space vertically (
up
or
down
) or horizontally (
left
or
right
). If you move into a square occupied by another die, you attack the die. If no die is in the square, your turn is over.

Attacking a Die

If you move into a square occupied by another die, you attack the die. To attack, roll a 1d6 for your die and add the value of the die you moved (i.e. If you moved a die showing 3, you would attack by
Original Roll String: 1d6+3
1 6-Sided Dice: (6)+3 = 9
), and a 1d6 for the die you are attacking using the same rules.

Determining the Winning Die

If either die rolls a natural 6 (before the addition), that die automatically wins.
If either die rolls a natural 1, that die automatically loses.
If both dice roll a natural 6, a standoff occurs and the moved die returns to its original square.
If both dice roll a natural 1, both dice are destroyed and removed from the board.

Except in the situations listed above, the higher total wins.

If the Moved Die Won

If the winning die is the one you moved, it moves into the square and the destroyed die is added to your pile. The value of the die changes to the next number up (i.e. a die showing 1 becomes 2; you can't go above 6). If the die shows a 6, it changes back to a 1.

If you rolled a natural 6, you repeat your turn, but must use a different die.

If the Attacked Die Won

If the winning die is the one you attacked, it stays where it is and the moved die is destroyed and removed.

If the Dice Tied

If the dice totals are equal, there is a standoff and the moved die returns to its original square.

If you rolled a natural 6, you repeat your turn, but must use a different die.

Next Player

When a player's turn is over, the next player will move. The next player is not allowed to move the same die as the previous player's last move. This die will have a yellow background to signify it cannot be moved. However, it may be attacked.

Determining the Winner

Movement continues until there is only one die remaining on the board. When the game is complete, the winner is determined by the total value of the dice they captured (i.e. dice showing 6 count as 6 points, etc.). If there is a tie in the total value of the dice, the winner will be determined by the number of dice captured. If a tie still exists, the players will share the winner spot.

Refinements

When the game gets to the last few dice (six or less), there is a tendency to move dice aimlessly so you don't give the next player the opportunity to attack. To prevent this, the game will end after six turns in which no dice have been attacked.
"In wartime, truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies." --Winston Churchill
"The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all." --John F. Kennedy

Typically only on during the evenings.

1. Although not required, all moves should be bolded. At the least, your move should be obvious.
2. If players wish to table talk, it is invited at all times by all players.
3. Feel free to ask questions. Either PM me or precede the questions with "Mod".
4.
Dark Red
text is reserved for the Moderator.
5. Invisible or small text is allowed, but only minimally.
6. With each turn (and in the first post), I will announce whose turn it is. If an incorrect play is made, I will announce it and allow the player to play again. This does not extend the deadline.
7. Each player will have 2 days from my update to move. If a move is not made, the turn will be "passed". I will try to find a replacement for a player that deadlines 3 times in a row, but the game will not stall while waiting.
8. For any random information, random.org or the dice generator will be used.
9. If you are comfortable in the rules of the game and know that your turn is next, feel free to make the turn prior to my update. Remember, however, that if you do not realize the board has changed, you may miss out on a better play.
10. If you see an error, please point it out as soon as possible.
"In wartime, truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies." --Winston Churchill
"The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all." --John F. Kennedy

The only rule is that you cannot move the same die you moved before. If you want to
attack
that die, you're certainly allowed to do it.

For someone who complains about others not reading the rules so much, you should do well to read the rules or at least look at the moves of the people before you..
